Real Wedding, Anna & Tom, Collingwood VIC
Anna and Tom didn’t give into the temptation of doing what is ‘expected’ on their wedding day and instead just did whatever the hell they wanted!
Pulling together their celebration in just 8 weeks, they had no time to sweat the small stuff and what resulted was a vibrant celebration that was unique to Anna and Tom and full of sheer happiness! Enlisting Tribe favourite photographer Tony Evans, we think you’ll agree this day is pure magic!
In their words…
The meeting.

The ‘One’.
Well you can’t be too certain, given we met over 10 years ago, we had plenty of time to work that one out.
The proposal.
We decided together, after a bleary eyed, late night ride home from the airport, we just felt like the time was right.
The planning.
We decided we wanted to get married in October 2017 and we didn’t want to wait any longer so immediately went about planning a wedding for the end of the year. We landed on a date that thankfully not many others thought appropriate, which was two days before Christmas and the last day of work. Luckily for us, this meant we had our pick at venue (The Craft and Co.), photographer (Tony Evans Photography) and band (The Club)! Our two professions certainly helped our ability to pull everything together in just eight weeks without a hitch, plenty of spreadsheets, balance sheets and gantt charts later.
Style inspiration.
We wanted to refresh the model of weddings, skipping the engagement period and cutting straight to the chase. We certainly didn’t want to fuss over minor details, we just wanted to bring our family and friends together to celebrate the already great relationship we have.
The dress.
Never had a perception of a particular dress but I knew I wouldn’t wear a regular white gown and it actually ended up being the first and only dress tried on.
Favourite moments.
Tom – the moment of instant happiness from the change of dreaded nerves from the moment I saw Anna coming down the aisle.
Anna – yoga with the whole bridal team the morning of.
Traditions.
We’re not very traditional so we just went with what we wanted.
Meaning of marriage.
We knew marriage wasn’t going to be anything more than what we already had but it’s the perfect way to share it with everyone else.

Funny stories (or near disasters).
We invited too many people to the capacity of the venue, thinking surely some wouldn’t make it. But The Craft and Co. we’re fantastic and with a bit of a shuffle of table arrangements and clever chair placements they got us all in.
Planning surprises.
If you don’t dwell on detail (which no one notices anyway), it amazing how easily everything comes together.
Words of wisdom.
Enjoy the process, don’t take it too seriously cause at the end of the day it’s just about celebrating the two of you.
