Those who have popped into Ballarat recently would know it’s no longer just gold among the hidden gems.

There’s the delicious abundance of local produce – think truffles, olives and Pyrenees sparkling – and afterwards, the most beautiful boutique apartments to sleep off your indulgences.

And for those walking down the aisle, the regional city has an impressive line-up of venues perfect to say I do.

Ivory Tribe contributor Jenna Meade drops by to explore the loveliest local spots for your dream day.

Elopement shoot – Maria Luise Bauer

Simple can be oh so sexy, so when Tribe photographer Maria Luise Bauer sent this elopement inspired shoot our way, we sighed with happiness.

Elopements are all about bucking the trend and steering clear of all those traditions that can stifle a couple. Maria imagined her ideal elopement and set about capturing a couple in an urban setting – with the bride in a rocking Georgia Young Couture gown and a dapper groom in a suit. The result – a shoot that is so hipster-cool it hurts.READ MORE

A Tropical Fiesta!

Recently a Tribe of talent joined forces to bring to life a Tropical Fiesta that was truly jaw dropping!

It was a birthday bash like no other, when a touch of island paradise came to the gorgeous coastal town of Wye River. Think surfboards, caravans, summer lounges, sand, surf movies, bamboo, Hawaiian shirts, leis and of course pretty pink flamingos. Cocktails flowed, a fantastic feast was served by incredible Tribe caterers Truffleduck, and a mini minor birthday cake added artistic brilliance. The guests barely left the dance floor as they celebrated into the night.

When an incredible Tribe of people come together, magic is created, and we dare you not to feel some early summer vibes after taking a peek at the stunning imagery by Tribe favourite, Ali Bailey. (Find the full team of talent below)

So rather than shy away from the issue, Ivory Tribe contributor Marina Kalcina, has tackled the issue of wedding plans gone awry head on.

“I actually have something else to talk to you about, but it can wait ‘til tonight,” said my fiancé.

We’d just finished a quick pow-wow over the phone. We’d both been happy to hear each other’s voices on an otherwise carbon copy day of work, home, dinner, sleep. Then he had to go and end the conversation like that.
