Faux Glow – makeup edit
In her ten years as a bridal makeup specialist, Hilary of Hilary Holmes Makeup says there’s one look that is requested more than any other – beautiful, glowing makeup.
“It’s a look that complements a bride perfectly, as her skin is left looking as radiant as she feels on the inside,” Hilary explains – reassuring us that this look certainly isn’t restricted to brides only. “This golden glow is also a fantastic look that translates easily to every day too.”
As Hilary shares, getting the glow is all about the finish of your products. “For normal to dry skin,” Hilary says, “hydrating moisturizers infused with illuminators to prep the skin will then team beautifully with dewy foundation, and cream highlighters.”
For the normal to oilier-skinned honeys, she stresses that prevention of oil production is the key.
“Make sure to use light moisturisers and matte foundation,” she says, adding that the best highlighters for oily skin are those that are powder based.
To get the look, use a fan brush to dust the highlighter to the tops of your cheek bones and down the bridge of your nose. Do the same on your cupid’s bow, and to ensure your eyes really pop – don’t forget to tap the highlight into the corner of the eye.
