Real Engagement – Sofia & Lochie, Connewarre VIC

A couple of sunset sweeties recently celebrated their engagement on a gorgeous country property just outside of Geelong. Surrounded by their nearest and dearest, Sofia (of Enchanted Wedding Photography) and her high school love, Lochie oozed relaxed vibes, and an outpouring of love. The gorgeous pair even found time to sneak off to capture some magical private moments.

Engagements deserve to be celebrated and you will love the way this couple’s personality – and adoration of one other  – shines through. Take a look at the beautifully styled evening, and some of those incredible sunset snaps here.

How it all began:

We met twelve years ago during our high school days and I fell in love with Lochie and his afro hair do pretty much right away!  I admired his relaxed nature and the way he made me laugh. We have been together for ten years now and have grown together as a couple and individuals over this time.  As people, we are polar opposites. Lochie is spontaneous, easy going, nothing much worries him (which I envy) where as I try to be the organised one and can be a bit of a stress head at times. But we just fit together and that is the main thing! We love the little things in life like keeping our veggie garden in top condition, constant cuddles with our kitten River, cooking delicious meals for each other and making cups of tea at night.

The proposal:

Lochie popped the question on 10 October 2014.  It was on a trip to the beach, over fish and chips. It was very ‘us’, not over the top and very relaxed.

The party:

We had our engagement party on a gorgeous private property in Connewarre. We chose this space because we wanted to create a fun, relaxed atmosphere for family and friends.  An atmosphere in which they could kick back, have a drink and a dance. It was truly magical to have everyone you love in the one space at the same time. We had the best night of our lives. The highlight for me was having my grandparents travel to celebrate all the way from Russia. That was incredibly special.

Style inspiration:

The style we were going for was rustic, spacious, and warm. At the end of the day it was all about our family and friends.

What’s next:

We are off to Europe for 5 months in June, a trip we have been wanting to take for many years now and finally it is here. When we return we will have 10 months to plan our big day, we are so excited.
