Real Wedding – Ben & Greta, Curlewis VIC
Planning their wedding themselves, Greta and Ben loved the freedom they had in choosing to do whatever they liked on their special day.
Stunning surrounds, an incredible gown and an abundance of sweet moments, they couldn’t have asked for a more picture perfect day that made their endless hours of planning all worthwhile.
Katie Harmsworth captured the day in all its glamourous glory.
In their words…
The meeting.
Through a mutual Chef friend at his party. Ended up working together too which was interesting
The ‘one’.
When we realised we had the same sense of humour and could laugh together for hours.
The proposal.
Ben proposed on a cliff-top in Sorrento
The planning.
Long and exhausting at times, but so rewarding to see it all come together. We planned most of it ourselves which was awesome having so much freedom but required a lot of work. Sarah at Ed Dixon was a life saver to help us remember everything. And luckily Ben’s sister is an incredible artist who did all of the artwork, invitation and signage.
Style inspiration.
Old school glam/jazz.
The dress.
After trying on dresses I realised that all the things I thought I wanted like lace, sparkles etc. I didn’t like on me. So I went back to the drawing board. I ended up seeing one of Signor Mont’s dresses on a segment of Sunrise. After some Instagram stalking I realised he was the perfect designer for me, every dress was so individual and would only look good on that particular bride. I ended up with a silk crepe ivory gown with a coral-like French lace and about 500 pearls hand sewn onto the dress, finished with a tulle over-skirt for the ceremony.
Favourite moments.
We had a few, sorry! Seeing Greta come down the aisle. All of the speeches were amazing and so heartfelt, and also, our time alone in the field with cows having our photos taken.
Traditions.
Not seeing each other the night before or on the day. It was also very important to us to get married in a church

Funny stories (or near disasters).
We thought we had booked the wrong marquee so there was a bit of panic but we sorted it out in the end.
Words of wisdom.
Give yourself plenty of time, and work together!
Last words…
It was just the perfect day. We were so lucky to work with such incredible professionals in every field and we couldn’t believe the weather!
