Real Wedding – Greg & Ash, Leopold VIC

When Greg and Ash won themselves a Winter Wedding giveaway they felt like all their wedding dreams had come true. Taking place at the luxurious Campbell Point House, their wedding planner and Tribe favourite, Chic by Cara,  had all their planning under control meaning they could simply sit back, relax and enjoy every aspect of their wedding planning journey.

With the talented Hails and Shine Photography there to capture all the action, you’ll be left wishing you could only be so lucky!

In Ash’s words…

The meeting.

We met in Amsterdam when both on holiday randomly on a night out

The one.

When I unfortunately had my mother pass away, Greg was by my side the whole way through when it was very early in our relationship – he was my rock.

The proposal.

Greg proposed in October 2015, at home with my mother’s ring which he had resized for me as I always said I would use it as her wedding band. We then went and picked an engagement ring together.

Planning process.

To be honest, I was so lucky that I won a wedding planner, Chic by Cara. As part of my package she met up with us several times and organized everything for us. It kept us on track and Cara pretty much took care of everything for us, all I looked after was finding my dress, invites and the bridesmaids.

The dress.

Martina Liana – I knew when I put it on that it was my dream dress.

Favourite moment/s.

Ash – My favourite moment was saying my vows to Greg. The ceremony that Nicole Penning conducted was simply amazing. The way she honoured my late mum was powerful and I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house. Also having my first dance with my biological Dad would have to be one of the most emotional moments of my life.

Greg – After hearing the bagpipes play, I then saw Ash leave the house and stand at the top of the stairs before walking down the aisle. All of a sudden it all became very real and my breath was taken away by how truly amazing she looked. One of the most memorable moments for me was when I was surprised by my friend who made the trip over from Scotland who I hadn’t seen for years.

Traditions.

I had something borrowed and something blue and something that was very special to me was a little pendent with a photo of my mum. My florist (Moss Industry) tied this into my bouquet which brought me to tears but made me feel like I had her with me on the day.

Meaning of marriage.

To us, marriage is a union of lovers who share the trials and tribulations of life, look after and protect each other in whatever life throws at as. It is a privilege that we have found in each other our one true love and can wake up every morning and celebrate life as husband and wife.

Wedding Soundtrack.

Aisle song – Latch by Boyce Avenue ft Lia Marie Johnson

First Dance – You Make It Real by James Morrison

Funny stories/near disasters.

Luckily there were no hiccups through the planning, I had an amazing team coordinated by my wedding wing woman (wedding planner) Cara from Chic by Cara. She made sure we never had anything to worry about, especially on the day of the wedding. The only stress was trying to keep the secret of Greg’s friend who was flying in from Scotland to surprise him on the wedding day. As my husband is a detective its hard to keep anything from him.
