Real Wedding – Hannah & Andrew, Warrnambool VIC

We bet Andrew felt the same way on his wedding day as he did the first time he saw Hannah; she’s an absolute eye catcher! This couples Warrnambool wedding was nothing short of ‘wow’, with the sparkling ocean and bright blue sky played a perfect backdrop to their boardwalk ceremony. The couple partied on at Simon’s Waterfront Restaurant with their nearest and dearest. Tribe fave photographer Laura Mahony was there to snap all the magic.

In Hannah’s words…

The meeting.

Andrew walked towards me from across a crowded room, he tells me that I caught his eye, that he was intrigued by me and that he couldn’t leave without finding out my name.

The proposal.

After a night out at the Lion King the stage show, we went for a walk along the Sydney Opera House and sat down to some drinks looking out towards the Sydney harbour bridge. Unexpectedly, from a unique hiding place he pulls out a box and proceeds to get down on one knee. Can you feel the love tonight?! The rest is history.

The planning process.

The planning process was phone calls back and forth to my mum and conversations with my partner and if we both liked it we just went with it. As the process went on, it was like painting a picture of the perfect day to come.

Style inspiration.

The inspiration was from Pinterest mainly and finding the different things that we liked, our wedding was unique and I wanted it to describe us as a couple.

The dress.

I always had an idea of what I wanted in my wedding dress, I knew that I wanted lace and sleeves. But I kept reminding myself to keep an open mind to try different styles. Trying on around 30 dresses in one day, it wasn’t until I had given up that Anna, from the bridal house in Geelong suggested one more that had just come in. As soon as I got it on, I knew I wanted it. I didn’t want to get out of it, it was unique and I excitedly said yes to the dress.

Favourite moment(s).

It’s hard to have just one favourite moment, I loved walking down the aisle with my dad by myside, and walking towards and seeing the face of my husband to be. I loved having our friends and family all together to share and celebrate our love.

The meaning of marriage.

Loving unconditionally, growing together and having fun.

Wedding soundtrack.

Aisle: Follow you into the dark by Death Cab for Cutie. We had this played by our friend Matthew Mclean, it was an instrumental acoustic.

Reception entry song: Need your love by Calvin Harris.

First dance: Tenerife Sea by Ed Sheeran, played by the very talented Brady James

Any funny stories/ near disasters.

We were waiting for our best man to arrive from working overseas in America. He arrived in Warrnambool two days before the wedding. When we went to try on his clothes, the pants looked like they had been spray painted on and the store didn’t have any others in stock. The boys had to make a quick 6 hour round trip to Melbourne the day before the wedding to find the exact same pair of pants that would fit. Thank goodness it all came together in the end.

Planning surprises.

Everything that we planned came together on the day, it was nice to enjoy every moment of it with our family and friends who helped so much in the journey.

Words of wisdom.

Just enjoy the process, because it’s over before you know it. The little things will stress you, however, once your day comes its only you and your husband that matters.
