DREAMY DAYLESFORD ESCAPE
Lake House is nestled on the shores of idyllic Lake Daylesford amongst six acres of country gardens in the heart of Victoria’s Spa Country.
The area is best known for the heavily defined changing seasons; and at Lake House they take great pleasure in reflecting this throughout special celebrations and weddings.
ALL YOU NEED IN A WEDDING VENUE
In the summertime; picture perfect ceremonies take place on the lake shore – amongst the rows of silver birch and willow trees; the local waterfowl, glossy feathered ducks and the property’s family of grey geese gather nearby.
Autumn brides may prefer a private silk lined marquee decorated with fresh cut country roses and mulberry boughs set on the promontory overlooking the lagoon.
Winter brides delight in the misty mornings and starry skies – choosing to take their vows by the stone faced fireplace or by candlelight in the Terrace Foyer.
And Spring; the season of new beginnings in the countryside brings the most gorgeous fields of flowers and of course some of the best produce for the year.
Private parties, celebrations and weddings are held in one of several beautiful spaces.
The Cellar is a romantic private-dining option perfect for an intimate celebration of up to 16 guests. Surrounded by a ‘wall of wine’, the highlight of The Cellar is the handmade American Oak table which was made by a local craftsman.
The Waterfront Pavilion is situated below our main restaurant. Exuding sophisticated country charm it features crisp white wall shelving and beautiful hand waxed recycled timber tables which accommodate up to 40 guests. Two walls of glass provide spectacular views of the lagoon and lake beyond.
Then there’s the stunning Terrace; a contemporary country space with soaring ceilings, acres of luxe glass and stone. The space is designed to suit the personality of the hosts and as such can suit anything from an intimate shared table feast for 40 with twinkling candlelight and plush private lounge area or a gala style party with stage, dance floor and private bar.
An icon in regional dining, Lake House has long been considered to be one of Australia’s best restaurants, championing local seasonal cuisine long before it became a mantra for many. The menu offers modern Australian cuisine paying homage to the region’s excellent seasonal produce. Indeed restauranteur and Culinary Director Alla Wolf Tasker has enough national and international awards to fill virtually every wall of her fabled house on the lake. Treat your guests to the unique Lake House restaurant experience and know you will impress even the savviest foodie.
Lake House is a tranquil retreat that includes thirty-three studios and suites in either a waterfront or garden lodge setting. Six acres of country gardens extend down to the waters of Lake Daylesford and provide guests with immediate access to the lake shore and the Wombat State Forest beyond.
