Once the country home to the Armytage family of the Como House, Melbourne, the house adorns period features and impressive rooms – ideal for a beautiful wedding.


A short walk away is the rustic Mount Sturgeon Woolshed, a great space to host a reception. The blue-stone woolshed can accommodate up to 160 guests for a sit down meal and dancing.

Catering options.

Executive chef Robin Wickens creates original menus, inspired by the organic kitchen garden and seasonal produce.

From big celebrations, to intimate, tailor-made dinners, wedding menus at the Royal Mail Hotel are designed to suit your dietary preferences.

The Food and Beverage Package starts at $175pp, for five hours of food and beverage, with a choice of three course meal or shared platters. Discuss with our wedding coordinator the options to upgrade your package.

Additionally, the Royal Mail Hotel can accommodate festivities which go beyond the ceremony and reception. Host a casual dinner on Friday night, or brunch on Sunday morning.

Third party catering is not available at the Royal Mail Hotel.


The Royal Mail Hotel has many accommodation options on site, ensuring the guests of the wedding can continue the celebrations together.

Mount Sturgeon Homestead (sleeps 12 guests), for $3,700 for two nights.

Surrounding one and two-bedroom Mount Sturgeon Cottages (8 cottages), can be made exclusively available to your guests from $265 each per night.

There are more rooms and apartments available at the primary Royal Mail Hotel property, three kilometres away, also available to wedding guests.

Upon confirmation of your wedding with the Royal Mail Hotel, a selection of accommodation will be placed on hold 
for your guests. Early booking is advised. Please remind guests to mention they are attending your event. Any unbooked accommodation will be released six weeks from your event.

From start to finish they will have your day covered, and are always on hand to help, be it recommending local suppliers or help in selecting the perfect menu.

Cost: The venue hire for the Mount Sturgeon Woolshed is for exclusive use for the day and night of your celebration and is $4,000.

The set up of ceremony location, including ceremony chairs, antique signing table and native flower posies is $1,200.

The Mount Sturgeon Homestead, sleeps 12 and offers the opportunity to host the ceremony on the lawns. Venue hire is $3,700 for two nights.

Size of venue: The Royal Mail Hotel is very flexible on numbers and style of wedding. From intimate 10 person weddings, to 160-person cocktail parties, we will work closely with you to create the wedding of your dreams.

Indoors/outdoors: Both reception and ceremony can be held inside at the Mount Sturgeon Homestead or Woolshed. Outside reception and ceremony are also available on the lawns with the stunning Mount Sturgeon as the backdrop, or one of the many stand out gardens.
