There are so many layers to a marquee wedding, it’s pretty much just a big old onion. So many layers and so many tears if it isn’t done properly. Don’t worry though, we’ve got your back.

Many people just assume all you need is a marquee, some tables and a few chairs, right? Unfortunately it’s not that easy. Don’t forget about the toilets, the pump needed, the extra water you may need to service this, the generators, the power leads…oh, we could go on for days. Let us remind you, tip number 1 is super important.

Usually couples are getting married in a place that is super special to them, take advantage of this…uplight surrounding trees and buildings, this allows you to optimise your view the entire evening.

You are literally in a sleek blank canvas that is screaming for you to create a wow factor, even if this is the only bit of styling that you do, aim high (literally).

Choose an offsite catering company, not your favourite chef. As much as that chef is no doubt amazing, there is a big difference between a chef and an offsite caterer…extra tip, modern Australian cuisine is totally on trend.

Marquee weddings can sometimes become a money pit if you don’t stick to that all-important budget. Do this in the early days and try your best to stick to it throughout the duration, don’t dip into that honeymoon cocktail fund. This is something our planners feel very strongly about #cocktailsonthebeacharewaymoreimportant

Identify the entrance point to your marquee and make it epic. This is a detail that is almost always forgotten.

We are reminded daily about always having a plan B when drinking, so make sure you include a bus to get your guests from their accommodation to your marquee venue and then home again safely.

Create that extra little bit of sophistication and throw in a coloured napkin or table cloth. White is beautiful and crisp but why not make it that little bit special and unique. There are so many amazing suppliers out there, and it’s such a cost effective way to customise.

Wedding stationery is a must. Not only does it add a personal touch to your wedding it looks great and has a purpose. Don’t be afraid to get creative with this, add in colours…different textures, don’t just stick to paper, even though there is nothing better than the smell of fresh invites straight off the press.
