Just 90 minutes from Melbourne, The Shearing Shed delivers all the magic of a destination wedding venue, minus the passports. This country-meets-coastal venue on Phillip Island is far enough to feel like you’ve escaped the city, yet close enough that your guests can be home before midnight if they choose.
Built in 1953 and set across 20 acres of gardens and farmland, The Shearing Shed has been purposefully restored with modern amenities. As an all-inclusive wedding venue, The Shearing Shed brings together beautiful ceremony locations, incredible food, killer cocktails and an experienced coordination team all under one roof.
Couples have the flexibility to choose between two stunning ceremony locations: The Barn or the Billabong.
The Billabong is an idyllic outdoor ceremony space surrounded by established gardens and overlooking the tranquil billabong. Calm, peaceful and wonderfully intimate, it’s the perfect setting for couples looking to exchange vows surrounded by nature.
The Barn is a beautifully restored hay shed featuring polished concrete floors, vaulted ceilings and an abundance of natural light. Elegant yet practical, it provides a stunning all-weather ceremony space that feels warm, light and inviting in every season.
After the ceremony, guests can enjoy cocktails and grazing in the courtyard before the reception inside The Shearing Shed itself.
The Shearing Shed’s in-house catering is one of its standout features. The venue caters up to 150 guests for cocktail-style receptions (from $210 per person) or 110 guests for a sit-down feasting reception (from $225 per person, 2027 pricing). Every reception package includes a five-hour beverage package and is delivered with the venue’s signature country-style hospitality. Think generous portions, seasonal produce and paddock-to-plate menus that your guests will be talking about long after the last dance.
While The Shearing Shed does not offer accommodation onsite, guests are spoilt for choice with a variety of local accommodation options to suit all budgets.
One of The Shearing Shed’s most-loved inclusions is its complimentary courtesy shuttle bus which is included with all Cocktail and Feasting reception packages. Guests can truly relax and celebrate, knowing they’ll be safely transported back to their accommodation at the end of the night.
The Shearing Shed is for couples who value genuine hospitality, exceptional food and a wedding that feels well-organised without feeling over-produced. Full of character yet wonderfully versatile, the venue’s all-inclusive model takes the stress out of planning while leaving plenty of room for personal touches and creative styling, supported by a team with more than 12 years of wedding experience.
“They made the whole thing feel easy. We just showed up and had the best night of our lives.”
