Darling Downs and Toowoomba are situated in Southern Queensland, along the New South Wales border. Beautiful landscapes, historic towns and wineries, it’s worth looking into ithis area for its temperate climate.

You might be lured by the outback and the need to get dirt under your feet, so don’t discount this as an option too.

THINGS TO CONSIDER WHEN LOOKING AT QUEENSLAND WEDDING VENUES

Weather

With a name like the Sunshine State, it’s no wonder people are lured to Queensland because of its gorgeous climate.

Tropical in nature, Queensland’s sunny day, warm waters, cool ocean breezes and generally comfortable climate is what makes this state so popular with brides and grooms.

There is a wet and dry season so it pays to do some research and ensure that the area you intend to wed has weather you would prefer. Like always, it’s good to have a back-up plan for inclement weather also.

Transport

Whether traveling to Queensland by road, rail, air, or bus, most destinations are relatively accessible.

In larger cities you can make use of the public transport systems such as buses, trains and taxis.

In remote areas, self-driving may be the best option allowing you to access harder to reach places. Always prepare before taking off with a good knowledge of directions as well as petrol stations.

Local Events

The state of Queensland is full of spirit and have many events that happen throughout the year. Be it festivals, markets, theatre or outdoor events, it’s always good to check the tourism of Queensland website and check out what events are happening at the time you’re looking to be married to avoid any hassles when it comes to transport or booking a place to stay.

Accommodation

Staying in Queensland is a wonderful experience and when it comes to options, there are plenty of them.  Look up the areas you intend to stay in and check out what is available. But no doubt there will be hotels, boutique accommodation, Air BnB’s, campgrounds and much more to accommodate you and your guests.
