Real Wedding – Aleisha & Sinclair, Jindalee WA

For Aleisha and Sinclair, choosing to host a small, intimate day with their close friends, family and little son Ewan was a dream decision. Led by the Perth Wedding Collective, they created a stress-free, gorgeously styled celebration.

Having grown up in the UK, Sinclair and Aleisha wanted to reflect their life in Australia through their wedding vision. So, they exchanged I Do’s backdropped by bold blue ocean under endless skies, and then kicked off a long lunch and evening party in the beautiful Swan Valley.

Their tropical luxe style was realised to perfection through lush greenery, twists of tangerine hues and crisp white linen against natural timbers and the ocean backdrop. Enjoy every sweetly impactful micro-wedding moment as shown through the lens of Chantelle Venter Photography.

The one.

After just six months of dating, Aleisha moved to Australia from the UK with her family, and Sinclair followed without looking back at just 18. Here we are turning 30 together, living out our beautiful life in the sun.

The proposal.

Sinclair took Aleisha to Singapore for a holiday and proposed at the stunning Gardens by the Bay, followed by a beautiful meal.

The decision to elope.

Initially, we were going to get married in 2020; however, we ended up postponing and having our son Ewan in 2022, which changed our lives for the better. Aleisha suffered from major trauma and postnatal depression for a long time, and when we finally decided to replan our wedding, our priorities had really shifted to wanting a more intimate day with just close friends and family and our son Ewan being the centre of the day.

Planning process.

The whole planning process was made extremely easy, we had a mid morning beach deck ceremony which was organised by the amazing Perth Wedding Collective. They provided a complete package by arranging everything from furniture to florals, celebrant and paperwork. For our reception, we headed to our favourite restaurant, The Beach House in Eden Beach, for a long lunch. This was styled by the incredible Bertie Does. After the lunch had concluded, we headed back to our family home in the beautiful Swan Valley to continue the celebrations. It was a perfect stress-free day.

Style inspiration.

We love the life we have created here in Australia and really wanted to take advantage of having a beachside wedding. The theme was tropical luxe, and I feel like this was executed just as we had envisioned.

The outfits.

Aleisha’s dress was custom-made by a local wedding dress designer called Amanda Jayne Bridal. The bridesmaids were in cream dresses from AJE. Sinclair and groomsmen hired cream linen beach vibe suits from The Suit Vault.

Favourite moments.

Walking into the restaurant and seeing the stunning table set up with all our family and friends.

Meaning of marriage.

Marriage means strength when I feel weak; it means love and knowing that someone is there to support me when I feel overworked and exhausted. It means knowing that someone has got my back. Every time. It means learning to be kinder, more humble and giving – less selfish, more selfless, and preparing to sacrifice for the sake of the one you love.  It gives me a reason to try to always be the best wife, companion, mother and friend I could ever be.  Marriage gives my life purpose and focus.

Funny stories (or near disasters).

It was a really hot day, about 40 degrees, so the ceremony was very sweaty to get through! We had to organise shade umbrellas that week, not that it made much of a difference!

Planning surprises.

Just how easy it was!

Sharing the news.

Our extended family are mostly in the UK and understood that a small affair is something that now suited our lifestyle. They respected our new plans as did all of our friends.

Words of wisdom.

If you’re considering an elopement, do it! You truly enjoy the day and can share those quality moments with the people surrounding you.

Considering a micro-wedding or elopement? We’ve got some beautiful real wedding inspiration for an intimate celebration, carefully curated to help you make the perfect choice for you.
