Anita and Terry conquered covid restrictions to curate a celebration of relaxed, modern elegance. Including just their closest friends and family and focusing on the elements most important to them made for a day filled with poignant beauty and stunningly understated styling.

Zonzo Estate provided an epic backdrop for Quint Photography to work their magic, creating portrait sessions against sweeping skies and the chic contemporary chapel. Floral embellishments in a peach and vanilla palette, strewn with blooms of orchids, complemented Anita’s incredible Rime Arodaky jumpsuit to perfection, adding lashes of elegance to the festivities.

The fabulous finishing touch was a champagne tower, in our opinion the best way to kick off the celebrations!

As these gorgeous newlyweds advise, stay true to yourself and your day will be one to remember, for all the best reasons.

The meeting.

We met on the dating app, Bumble.

The ‘one’.

When I felt comfortable to show him my softer side! When I saw how gentle and caring he was towards others, especially towards my family, his family and his two cavoodles.

The proposal.

He proposed during the covid lockdown, at the end of a romantic dinner he had prepared. He cooked my favourite pasta, gnocchi (neither of us cooks, so it was a pretty decent effort!). He printed a baby bib for my nephew to wear that read ‘will you marry Uncle Terry’. A photo of baby Wes came through my phone at the end of dinner.

Planning process.

It started as a ten people registry wedding, which grew to a 20 people lunch and ended up being a 50 people wedding.

Style inspiration.

We wanted something more casual but still somewhat traditional. We are both easy-going so didn’t have any particular inspiration. I just knew what colours I wanted in the flowers and that we wanted a good feed. Neither of us drink alcohol so we didn’t care much about drinks.

The outfit.

I actually knew exactly what I was going to wear even before I started dating Terry.

Favourite moments.

When I saw him for the first time, as we had purposely spent the previous night apart.

Meaning of marriage.

It is the lifelong commitment to stick with each other, to work through any difficult times that may arise, to support each other. To raise a family and build a life together!

Funny stories or near disasters.

On the morning of the wedding, I chose a half-up hair-do. When the hairdresser finished, I changed my mind, and she had to redo an all down hair-do!

Planning surprises.

How much it all adds up to!

Words of wisdom.

Don’t try to please others; be true to yourself! Make sure the wedding goes for more than three hours. The three-hour lunch was way too short!
