Real Wedding – Anneleise & Jo, Bellarine VIC

Embracing the beauty of the Bellarine Peninsula, Anneleise and Jo opted to wed at the glorious Terindah Estate.

Combining classic and elegant styling and features to their day, it was also important to these stunning sweethearts that the overall vibe was relaxed and fun – they nailed it from every angle.

Armed with a terrific Tribe of suppliers who helped them pull off their best day ever, Anneleise and Jo’s special celebration was one to remember, with the talented Katie Wheeler there to capture the action.

In Anneleise’s words…

The meeting.

Jo and I met at University of Ballarat, we were both in the same course studying to become primary school teachers. I remember turning up to a tutorial very hungover and Jo offered me a Nodo (caffeine tablet). We were friends for the first few years of uni, often doing assignments together and it wasn’t until we went on an overseas teaching placement together in England at the end of our 3rd year of uni that he made his first move.

The ‘one’.

I am a crazy cat lady and I already had two cats before we were together. Jo is allergic to cats, so when he agreed to let me get a 3rd cat I knew he was definitely a keeper!

The proposal.

It was a cold, rainy July day and during the morning I had had a medical appointment and I was not feeling like heading to Lorne for a hike at Cora Lynne Falls. Jo was insisting we go and I reluctantly agreed. Once we reached the bottom of the hiking track I realised we had completed this hike very early on in our relationship and it was there that Jo got down on one knee and asked me to be his forever.

The process.

Some elements were stressful, probably because I am very indecisive. I did have a lot of help from my Maid of Honour who was amazing, relieving much of the stress.

Style inspiration.

We wanted our wedding to be a mix of classic and elegant, but also relaxed and super fun!

The dress.

My style is very minimalist so I always knew I wanted to wear something simplistic and classic. When I tried on the Cleo gown at Jane Hill I knew it was the one. I had the top part of the gown changed slightly to ensure comfort and support for the big day!

Favourite moments.

It’s so hard to select just one as there were so many, but I would have to say our favourite moments were having our wedding photos taken on Terindah Estates private beach and surrounds. The views at Terindah are just stunning and it was so lovely to enjoy some quiet time together with a bottle of bubbles!

Meaning of marriage.

Marriage means committing to one another for the rest of our lives and supporting one another through lifes ups and downs. It also means loyalty, something we both value immensely.

Wedding soundtrack.

Aisle: Cant Help Falling in Love (Kina Grannis cover)

Reception entry: Forever by Chris Brown

First dance: The Best of Me by Bryon Adams

Funny stories (or near disasters).

My maid of honour had ordered matching sleepwear by Lerose Online for the morning of the wedding and Australia Post had claimed to have lost it the week of the wedding, luckily it had somehow turned up two days before the wedding.

Planning surprises.

We were engaged for 18 months so we had a long time to plan and prepare for our wedding, but its just the little things that take time and the week of the wedding was crazy running around trying to get those finishing touches done!

Words of wisdom.

Take time out and spend some quality time together just before the wedding!

Plan your wedding that reflects who you are as a couple, don’t let others try and influence you to make decisions that you aren’t comfortable or happy with.
