Real Wedding – Brennah and Trent, Yarra Glen VIC
Brennah and Trent’s wedding day took place in the glorious Yarra Valley, and from the get-go, they had an idea of how they wanted it to play out. In turn, they found the planning process a breeze and their day unfolded like a dream.
With effortless elegance and an air of simplicity, beautiful Brennah took to the aisle in a stunning strapless Karen Willis Holmes gown, epitomising modern bridal brilliance. And while the rain came down as they had their photos taken, they simply smiled and pushed on.
As the evening rolled in, under a clear-span marquee, their styling took centre stage and their venue – surrounded by lush vines and glorious greenery, couldn’t have been more perfect.
On hand to document every darling detail (of which there are plenty!), was Dan Milligan.
The meeting.
We met through the coincidence of my cousin bringing Trent along to my 21st Birthday party. Little did my cousin know, that Trent and I knew each other and had actually been texting back and fourth prior to this. Trent didn’t know who my cousin was and had no idea it was my party.
The ‘one’.
I think it was our second date when he basically put it all out on the table and said he wasn’t looking for just a girlfriend and asked what my future looked like and my aspirations. From then I knew he wasn’t mucking around and I loved that!
The proposal.
We were in our all-time favourite place – Bali. We walked along the beach in the morning on our way to breakfast and he popped down on one knee and asked me. We then arrived at the café and our family and friends (who had come on the trip) were all there. It was our three-year anniversary.
The process.
Super relaxed. I was a very chilled bride. Apart from the hiccup of having to delay the wedding for a year due to me falling pregnant, it was a great lead up. Not stressful at all, I loved the entire process.
Style inspiration.
Elegant, simple and effortless. I knew the venue would do all the talking, the vines were bushy and the whole venue was full of greenery and florals. I added some extra greenery and crisp white flowers and it was perfect and stunning.
The dress.
My main thing was, I wanted a ‘proper’ wedding dress with the train and all, but also wanted a hint of sexiness. The bustier and split up the leg screamed this. I then loved the old fashioned style of the skirt boasting volume and the buttons on the back. It was elegant, modern and simple. The exact look I was going for. I saw this dress on Karen Willis Holmes’ Instagram roughly one year prior to me searching for my dress. I totally forgot about it until I walked into KWH for my appointment. It was the first dress I tried on there and just knew it was the ONE.
Favourite moments.
Definitely the speeches. It was incredible to hear people speak about your relationship in the most beautiful way. It really meant a lot to me and shows how much support Trent and I really have.
Meaning of marriage.
To have an unbreakable bond with someone that you seem to love more and more each day.
Funny stories (or near disasters).
We got all our photos taken in the rain which was a disaster but you wouldn’t even be able to tell in the final images. The background looks incredible.
Planning surprises.
Honestly, how simple it was. I was expecting it to be a lot more difficult.
Words of wisdom.
Take your time.
