Real Wedding – Chloe & Chade, Bellarine Peninsula VIC

Set against a sweeping expanse of ocean vista, Chloe and Chade’s celebrations are a gorgeous blend of stunningly simple style, free-flowing feels and epic natural beauty, underpinned by the sweetest romance.

Both brides look a vision of modern, laid-back glam in their gowns by Anna Campbell; Chade in a sequin embellished open-back two-piece and Chloe in a classic silhouette made ultra contemporary through low back lace detailing and clean, chic lines.

Blooms by Bellarine floral legend Florette anchor the style through a colour palette of warm natural hues, creamy vanillas and accents of muted blush, contrasting to perfection against the bridesmaids in soft sage. The setting couldn’t possibly have been more idyllic, and sublime storytelling by celebrant, Chloe Elliot was the perfect final piece to the puzzle.

Ashley K’s gorgeous photo journey captures the infectious effervescence between the newlyweds. As they say their I Do’s in the sun-drenched grounds of Terindah Estate, the vibes are so clearly nothing but blissful.

Scroll on for every loved-up moment!

The meeting.

It was 2017 in Auckland, NZ, when we were both living there, when we swiped right on Tinder! We spoke every day for a few months before meeting in person, as Chade was travelling around NZ. We met up at a bar for a drink and never looked back.

The ‘one’.

We both feel we always knew each other were our soul mates, intertwined at the roots. It wasn’t a particular moment. It was a buildup of love, trust, communication, fun and laughs over the years. When you know, you know.

The proposal.

Chade had secretly planned to pop the question on our trip to the Amalfi Coast in Italy, but due to covid, we had to cancel our trip.

Instead, Chade proposed at one of Chloe’s favourite spots growing up. We were visiting Chloe’s family in Hobart for the weekend, staying at the family home. We went for a walk on the rocks at Blackmans Bay beach, where Chade got down on one knee and proposed. It was the best day of our lives (other than the actual wedding day!) We spent the day celebrating with Chloe’s family; it was perfect!

Planning process.

Due to covid and international travel, we had two years to plan our wedding. We initially had no idea where to begin, so we simply googled “what do I need to organise for my wedding”. We made a thorough checklist, and Chade made a brilliant Excel spreadsheet of everything and our budgets. We did a lot of scrolling through Instagram and googling to find the perfect celebrant, band, photographer etc.

A few weeks before the wedding, we delegated jobs to family members and friends to make the process a little easier.

Style inspiration.

We were going for a simple and elegant style. We wanted the style to be intimate as it was a small wedding. It involved a lot of Pinterest-ing and scrolling Instagram for ideas. We wanted it to be light and soft, so we went with colours like white, pink, and greenery for flowers.

We found articles of information very useful, i.e. checklist for my wedding, how do I write my vows, little things not to forget. We found the website brides.com to be useful.

For the style of our wedding, we found inspiration through real wedding pictures and reels, mainly on Instagram and scrolling through Pinterest!

The ceremony.

Our ceremony was beautiful; it was set at Terindah Estate on the Bellarine Peninsula. It had the sun shining and the backdrop of the ocean. We both love the ocean, so we wanted to have it involved in some way. The ceremony consisted of our nearest and dearest, which was very special to us.

The outfit.

When it was time to find the perfect dress, we did some research through Google and Instagram. We picked out around four spots to go and see.

Anna Campbell was our third shop, and we fell in love with our dresses. We both had gorgeous outfits. Chade wore a stunning two-piece skirt and topper. The topper had a striking open back with hand-embellished sequins.

Chloe wore a classic gown with a gorgeous handmade embroidery piece on the low back.

Favourite moments.

Chloe: My most memorable moment was standing at the aisle next to Chade, holding her hands, smiling and giving each other a wink and telling each other how beautiful one another looked. I loved listening to Chade make her vows and being up there in front of our loved ones sharing the moment and being present.

Chade: standing at the aisle, hearing Vance Joy I’m With You and seeing Chloe walking down the aisle, thinking that I’m the luckiest woman in the world.

Meaning of marriage.

Marriage is about being there for each other no matter what. It’s about building each other up and helping each other grow both as individuals and as a couple. It’s about communication and trust, and appreciating one another. It’s also about remembering to have a good time with each other and sharing laughs.

Wedding soundtrack.

Aisle: Sweetest Devotion by Adele, Home by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, I’m with You by Vance Joy

Recessional: Electricity by Dua Lipa

Reception entry: bridesmaids – Cuff It by Beyonce, brides – Came here for Love by Sigala, Ella Eyre

First dance: Vincent McMorrow – Higher Love which transitioned into Kygo Whitney Houston Higher Love so everyone could get up and dance!

Funny stories or near disasters.

Although we had PLENTY of time to get organised leading up to the big day, it was very busy organising logistics, so we both made the comment of ‘maybe we should have just eloped’(mainly joking as the day was well worth it!).

Planning surprises.

To be honest, we had read many articles, so we were pretty educated on what to expect, which made the process pretty smooth.

Words of wisdom.

Don’t leave It all to the last minute to book. A lot of talented photographers, celebrants, bands etc., might be booked out pretty far in advance, so get in there early so you don’t miss out!

On the day, it is about you and your partner. Don’t worry about everything else; just focus on being present and having a great time. It feels like it can go pretty quickly after all the buildup, so make sure you take it all in. HAVE FUN and enjoy the LOVE!

Love a glam green for your bridesmaids? There is no doubt that whether it be soft sage, deep olive or bold emerald, this versatile hue is having it’s moment. We’ve curated some of our favourite green aesthetics to help inspire your scrolling, here on the blog.
