Real Wedding – Evan & Natalie, Fairfield VIC

Natalie and Evan envisioned a wedding blending old-world vintage charm with soft romance. Their dreamy day on the banks of the Yarra River was all this and more.

Our friends at State of Nature Florals created artful arrangements of butterfly-like blooms in cornflower blue, brushed peach, and creamy vanilla against an abundance of rich greenery, blending seamlessly with the surrounding bushland and elevating the atmosphere to celebration and style.

With her elegantly whimsical and softly chic gown by Temperley, Natalie is a vision of timeless grace, while Evan cut a dashing figure in a tailored suit from The Suit Concierge. Their ceremony, a blend of humour and refreshingly genuine feels by celebrant Marry Me Dee set the tone for a day filled with light-hearted love and vibrant celebration.

In the super-talented hands of the Baker Boys Band, the soundtrack to the day enhances the vibe to perfection, while sublime visual storyteller Georgia Verrells captures it all in perfect frames.

As they look back on their wedding day, Natalie and Evan offer this simple advice: embrace the unexpected, lean on each other, and, above all, cherish the journey. Read on to see the culmination of their wedding day journey.

The meeting.

We met online through an app called Bumble, in New York City.

The ‘one’.

We knew when Evan moved to London to be with Natalie.

The proposal.

Evan got down on one knee and proposed in the backyard of our apartment in London, UK

Planning process.

It was all a bit haphazard in Natalie’s usual style of planning things!

Style inspiration.

Old-world vintage and romantic style. We found inspiration through real wedding features.

The ceremony.

Our ceremony was the perfect blend of humour and seriousness with gorgeous personal vows. It felt very meaningful.

The look.

Natalie wore a vintage dress from Temperley, while Evan wore a tailored suit from The Suit Concierge

Favourite moments.

Exchanging our vows.

Meaning of marriage.

Marriage is loving someone with all your heart and committing to work through things together.

Wedding soundtrack.

Aisle: At Last by Etta James

First dance: (Dad) Nothing Can Change This Love by Sam Cooke; (Bride and Groom) Wild Horses by the Rolling Stones

Funny stories or near disasters.

Our daughter got sick two days prior to the wedding and vomited all over Evan. Then our power went out the night before the wedding so we were finalising all the bonbonniere by candlelight.
