Real Wedding – Grace & Jayden, Palm Beach NSW

Grace and Jayden make the perfect team in life, and their stunning Palm Beach celebrations perfectly encapsulate this synergy. Fresh, light-filled and infused with subtle touches of coastal chic, this elegant soiree unfolds with dynamic energy and the sweet romance of forever promises.

Captured by Luminous Moments, each frame delicately balances the blissed-out emotion with the stunning style. A colour palette of soft coppery peach, muted tangerine, and crisp white combine with the natural hues of Jayden’s suit in visual harmony.

We cannot describe this beautiful day without highlighting Grace’s breathtaking gown. Re-shared and saved countless times on our Instagram, this fit by Alena Leena from Love Marie Bridal Boutique is perfectly of the time. Minimalist in silhouette but with the full skirts so popular right now, it has incredible bodice detail, an elegantly sweet back, and an overall effect of perfect contemporary romance.

The meeting.

We met in 2017 at a cafe we were both working at. Jayden walked in for an interview and saw Grace and knew he had to take the job just to get to know her. We went out for lunch after a shift and never looked back!

The ‘one’.

Life together is easy – even when things around us can be challenging. We are better as a team than we ever would be alone. We show compassion and kindness to one another when we need it.

The proposal.

One of our favourite things to do together is explore new places. After buying our first home together, we moved in, and that same week Jayden worked up the courage to ask the big question. He planned a hike to the top of a mountain and had some of Grace’s closest friends at the top videoing the moment with a drone. Grace was absolutely speechless, and it was just a perfect day!

The process.

We took a very relaxed approach to planning and really soaked up the season of life of being engaged. We had a long engagement of 18 months and took the time to look at different venues and vendors to really decide what felt right for us. We had an amazing wedding party who made the whole process so much fun and our wonderful parents were so supportive and helpful along the way.

Style inspiration.

We really wanted our wedding to be relaxed and fun but still have a formal feel. The location being in the Northern Beaches just felt perfect as it encompassed that relaxed coastal feel while still being absolutely stunning. We really gravitate towards warm colour tones and so our bridal party, styling and floral colours reflected this.

Grace became a Pinterest queen during the planning process and loved seeing inspiration from real weddings. We also relied heavily on our venue’s recommendations to have a look at different vendors and then we would look at their social media to see if their vibe matched ours.

The ceremony.

Our ceremony took place in St David’s Church in Palm Beach. We loved the small, cozy feeling in the chapel, and we also loved that it wasn’t weather dependent. The feeling of walking into a room with all of our favourite people there to celebrate us and our love was just unmatched, and it was one of the things that made the day so special. We had an amazing acoustic singer – Mitch from Oberon Lane who sang a cover of Yellow by Coldplay as Grace walked down the aisle and it was such a special moment.

The outfits.

Jayden and his groomsmen wanted a relaxed and coastal vibe that went with the colour scheme of the day. The boys had their suits made by Jayden’s regular tailor and the boys made a day out of it grabbing dinner and drinks in the city. Grace had an image in her mind of what she wanted – sleek, backless and lace – the opposite of what she chose.

It is so important to try a range of dresses on because you just never know what suits you until you try it. Grace visited Love Marie Bridal in Camden and Amy was amazing and helping us to choose dresses to try. The Alena Leena Mimosa dress was the last one that she tried on and as soon as she tried it, she knew. We loved the beautiful sleeve and the detail of the fabric, and just can’t go past a long train on a dress to make you feel like a princess.

Favourite moments.

There were so many moments that were truly perfect in our eyes. Of course, the moment we first laid eyes on each other was indescribable. We loved taking photos with our bridal party in Wiltshire Park and soaking up the day with them. A really noteworthy moment was the moment we finished our first dance, and all of our guests ran onto the dance floor to join us. After 18 months of planning, waiting, and dreaming of this day it was just truly a moment we will cherish forever.

Meaning of marriage.

To us, marriage means strength when we feel weak, it means love and knowing that someone is there to support us when we feel overwhelmed and exhausted. It means knowing that someone has got our back. Every time.  It means learning to be kinder, more humble, and more selfless.

Wedding soundtrack.

Aisle: Yellow by Coldplay (Amber Leigh Irish Cover) – performed live

Signing: Simply The Best by Tina Turner  The Moon Loungers Cover)- performed live

Recessional: You’re My Best Friend (Cloud Illusions Cover) – performed live

Bridal party entrance: Home by Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros

Bouquet toss: Man after Midnight by Abba

Exit song (during sparkler send-off): Accidentally In Love by Counting Crows

Funny stories (or near disasters).

The week before the wedding, our rental house for the bride and bridesmaids that we had booked 12 months before suddenly became unavailable. Grace was devastated. The agent in charge offered us a different property which was an amazing house directly across from Palm Beach with 180-degree water views – a disaster that turned into such a better situation.

Planning surprises.

None really – Grace loves a spreadsheet and a list so the organisation and planning were her ultimate domain.

Words of wisdom.

Soak it up and enjoy every moment – even the stressful ones. It will soon be a season that has passed and there is nothing better than being able to look back and smile – knowing that it brought you closer together and resulted in the best day of your lives.
