Real Wedding – Jessie & Matthew, St Kilda VIC

Planning a wedding was a breeze for Jessie and Matthew – they simply found a space that is to die for, added the people they loved most and what resulted was a party that neither will quickly forget.

Their ceremony was full of love and laughs and being so soon after the marriage YES vote in Australia, the new monitum was met with rapturous applause from all their guests.

Of course it’s hard to go past Jessie’s fabulous frock and Tanya Voltchanskaya was there to capture her shimmying in this Zimmerman number all night long!

In their words…

The proposal.

In Paris, sitting on the left bank of the Seine with our legs dangling about in the late evening.

The outfits.

Jessie – Zimmerman, first dress I tried on.

Matt – Something simple.

Favourite moments.

Striding towards the chuppa with a great cheer from the crowd, feeling time slow with us as we joined our families there. We were one of the first weddings to take place after the marriage YES vote. The room erupted when Isabella read the new monitum: “Marriage, according to law in Australia, is the union of two people to the exclusion of all others, voluntarily entered into for life.”

Meaning of marriage.

Hopping and skipping.

Wedding soundtrack.

Aisle: Klezmer music, a folk-style from the villages of Eastern Europe where Matt’s family lived.

Words of wisdom.

Find a spot where you’re sure to have a good time. Ask a few people to attend. Solved.

Lauren Cassy did all of our florals and it was magnificent. She spent so many hours crafting the colour palette, adjusting the individual flowers and foliage. Such a talent!
