Kassy and Matt’s wedding, held at the historic Werribee Mansion, was the epitome of elegance.

There was room for all 150 of the couples loved ones in the mansions permanent, grand scale marquee, which was beautifully adorned with black and gold accents, lush greenery and white florals. Thanks to their talented tribe, Kassy and Matt got hitched without a hitch.

Photographer, Tess Follett, was part of this terrific tribe, and was there to capture every magic moment.

In Kassy’s words…

The meeting.

We have known each other since high school. We were good friends at first and then started dating in year 11 before having three year break (growing up time). We have now been back together for 11 years!

The one.

I think I always knew, even in year 11, but we needed that time apart to become our own people independently. The moment we got back together, I knew it would be forever.

The proposal.

Being together for 11 years, there wasn’t much he could surprise me with, so he knew he had to catch me off guard. It was Christmas morning 2016, my absolute favourite time of year! We were at our home, giving each other our presents (in our matching x-mas jumpers we got from London the year before). I went to unwrap and pair of Christie Nicolaides earrings (ones that I asked for, so I knew what I was getting) but he had removed the earrings from the box, and replaced it with the most beautiful note, when I finished reading the note, I looked up and he was down on one knee holding the ring!! STOKED!!

The planning.

Everything went as smoothly as it possibly could. We were very lucky that everyone who was our first choice to book was available for our wedding day.

Style inspiration.

We knew we were going to have a fairly large wedding, so we had to pick a venue that could comfortably seat over 150 guests; this ruled out a lot of options. We both have always loved the look of marquee weddings, and love that they are the perfect blank canvas for you to create your vision from scratch.

We chose Werribee Mansion Marquee; a permanent structure complete with flooring, aircons, bathrooms, kitchens and everything you need, plus it’s stunning surrounds made it the perfect venue.

The styling was modern and classic with the addition of subtle fun wording on menus and nicknames used for places settings, lots of greenery, gold and black!

The dress.

I had seen a lot of Sonia’s (Cappellazzo Couture), work prior to getting engaged and loved a lot of the dresses she had created for previous Brownlow events and other weddings. I became obsessed with her amazing white neoprene material. I have curves and really wanted something structured to compliment all the right areas. The moment I met her, I knew she would be making my wedding dress!

Favourite moment/s.

Seriously, couldn’t pick one moment, the whole day was just a dream. The weather, the venue, the setup, my handsome husband waiting for me at the end of aisle.

The meaning of marriage.

To us, it means being able to start the rest of our lives together (officially) and to start our own family, but also keep doing what we are doing. Enjoying every day with each other; laughing, and always supporting each other no matter what.

Funny stories/near disasters.

I am such an overly organised person, so I thought something was bound to go wrong, but we were actually so fortunate in how amazing it all went.

Planning surprises.

Not really. We had it all under control fairly early, but we had two incredible stylists, Bree and Felicity, who took care of basically everything. And of course Sarah and Gregory at Werribee Mansion, who were just amazing when it came to anything we wanted for our big day!

Words of wisdom.

Don’t stress about the small stuff on the day; what will be will be. No one will notice anything has gone wrong except for you. So just enjoy every moment with your loved ones, because it goes by in the blink of an eye.

Last words.

All of our wedding vendors and suppliers were beyond incredible, we would not change a single thing, they made the day run so smoothly and made us both feel so comfortable.
