Real Wedding – Larissa & Paul, Albert Park VIC
Take a dip into a vision of timeless elegance and superb styling of Larissa and Paul’s dream day. Even a last-minute change of venue due to Melbourne weather couldn’t diminish the beauty of this celebration.
We love the lush greenery interspersed with clean white blooms, curated to perfection by Tori Allen Events. Choosing classic chic in her Suzanne Harwood gown, Larissa made a jaw-dropping entrance as she stepped down the aisle towards her fiancé.
For Paul and Larissa, taking a moment together to reflect on the day during their portrait session with one of our fave photographers Amanda Alessi, was a highlight of the day.
Behind the decks to take the celebrations to the next level was Tribester Hey Jack, with acoustic tunes by Top Dog Entertainment.
The meeting.
We met in late 2013 whilst working together. After a few months, Paul asked me on a date, and the rest is history.
The proposal.
Paul organized a surprise picnic on the banks of the Yarra River (on a 40-degree day!) and popped the question. I was completely surprised!
Planning process.
The planning process was really fun and quite stress-free. Having Tori Allen on board to manage all of the event styling, including the event set up, florals and stationery made our lives so much easier.
Style inspiration.
Our brief was classic, elegant, and simple. Our colour palette was classic white, black and green.
The outfit.
I knew I wanted a simple and classic wedding dress.
I went to Suzanne Harwood with a style in mind, and that was the one I chose. First bridal shop, second dress!
Favourite moments.
After the ceremony, Paul and I had 45 minutes by ourselves to take photos. It was so nice to have that time alone together to take it all in!
Meaning of marriage.
Two people promising to love, support and care for one another for the rest of their lives, as they become a family, build a life together and share every moment that the future will bring.
Wedding soundtrack.
Aisle: Real Love by Clean Bandit (acoustic version)
Reception entry: September by Earth Wind & Fire
First dance: Forever You and Me by The Tesky Brothers
Funny stories or near disasters.
We were supposed to have our ceremony at the Royal Botanic Gardens; however, it rained on our wedding day (typical Melbourne!), so we had to move the ceremony to inside at Greenfields. Luckily the venue were really accommodating, and all of our amazing suppliers helped us make this late change. In hindsight, we think it worked out better having the ceremony and reception all at the one venue.
Planning surprises.
None, really. We had a group of amazing suppliers who all made it quite easy with minimal stress.
Words of wisdom.
Not to let the event planning process stress you out! At the end of the day, it is about marrying the love of your life and celebrating with those nearest and dearest to you.
