Real Wedding – Natasha & Brock, Springmount VIC

A friend request via Facebook was the start of something pretty special between Natasha and Brock who wed in gorgeous Springmount surrounded by their nearest and dearest.

This perfect pair had a ball planning their special day, wanting to keep it relaxed and sincere and they stayed true to themselves every step of the way.

Their boho and romantic inspired styling paired perfectly with their venue, Aghadoe Estate. The homestead was the ideal backdrop for them to seal the deal.

Full of love and laughter, it was easy for the ladies of Pretty Flamingo Photography to capture the essence of their love story so get scrolling and try not to fall in love with this sweet celebration.

In Natasha’s words…

The meeting.

We met in February 2011, after Brock added me on Facebook. We had mutual friends in common but had never been introduced. So he started a conversation with me online and that turned into a date, the rest is history.

The ‘one’.

I think on our first date I knew he was special and I loved the way he made me feel. He wasn’t like anyone I had met before and I felt like I was better for knowing him.

The proposal.

He dressed as Santa at our family Christmas gathering, giving out all the gifts to all the uncles, aunties, and cousins. Then at the end he said that there was one last present to give. He took off his santa hat and pulled out a ring box, turned to me and popped the question. It was a HUGE surprise and he did a great job organising it.

The process.

First thing we did was book the venue. It’s only 20 minutes from my parent’s house in Daylesford which was perfect because we always wanted to be married in or near Daylesford. We visited Aghadoe Estate and fell in love with all the goats, chickens, cows and of course the homestead. We knew we had found the perfect venue for us! The planning was really fun for us, we had 11 months to do everything which made it all very relaxed and enjoyable.

Style inspiration.

We wanted a relaxed, boho, romantic vibe which I think we did well. The main thing for us was that our guests had a great time!

The dress.

I had a dress in mind that I thought I was set on, but then I found Rue De Seine designs and changed my mind completely. It was perfect I am still so in love with my dress.

Favourite moments.

My favourite moment was after our ceremony and after family photos. We took our bridal party away from the crowd and into the kitchen to have a toast celebrating sealing the deal. We took photos had a laugh and just relaxed. It was a nice moment.

Meaning of marriage.

Marriage to me is having a partner in life to share everything with. To have someone who inspires and supports you through everything life throws at us.

Wedding soundtrack.

Aisle: Sunset lover by Petit Biscuit

Signing: Chapel song by We Are Augustines

Exit song: You’re my best friend by Queen

First dance: So into you by Childish Gambino

Funny stories (or near disasters).

One near disaster was the groom’s suit being picked up only days before the wedding date! The staff member who placed his suit order in the store had quit the very next day. So the order never got sent and luckily we found out this information just in time! Crisis averted. We had a few funny stories, unfortunately none that I have permission to share on the internet.

Planning surprises.

I guess one thing would be how many options and choice there is out there! There are so many creative and talented people in the wedding industry, we felt spoilt for choice.

Words of wisdom.

Make sure you have the wedding you want, not what you think you should have. Its easy to focus on making everyone else happy but do what will make you happy. Also it really does go as quickly as they say, it is CRAZY!

The dreamy Daylesford, Hepburn Springs and Macedon regions leave a couple spoilt for choice when it comes to wedding planning. See some of our favourite venues in the area but clicking here.
