Real Wedding – Patrick & Marnie, Yarra Glen VIC

Layers of fresh vanilla tones, soft greenery and sleek minimalist styling coalesce in an elegant celebration, topped only by the relaxed fun echoing in every image.

Marnie and Pat, along with their seven-month-old daughter, celebrated in gorgeous Yarra Valley style at Acacia Ridge Winery, allowing the natural vineyard setting and venue decor to create a relaxed, chic vibe.

For the new Mr and Mrs, it was having their daughter with them and dancing alongside the people they love most in the world that really made their wedding unforgettable and ultra-special.

See every effervescent moment unfold beautifully through the lens of photography legend My Scandi Style.

The proposal.

Pat proposed to me on Christmas Day of 2022. We were hosting both of our families for the first time in our newly renovated house, and just prior to serving lunch, as everyone was seated at the table, he began to make a speech before getting on one knee! It was so special to have all of our loved ones there for this special moment – that definitely took me by surprise.

Style inspiration.

Our planning process was all about balance and intention. We used Excel spreadsheets to stay organised and ensure nothing was overlooked, while also being mindful not to go over the top. We wanted to create a day that felt meaningful without exceeding our budget. Our inspiration was simple: we aimed for a style that was elegant, timeless, and effortlessly classy, something that would feel just as beautiful looking back years from now.

The ceremony.

Our ceremony was everything we had hoped for – short, meaningful, and full of heart. We didn’t want it to drag on; instead, we focused on capturing the most important moments with concise, heartfelt vows. It felt timeless, from my dress and the florals to the suits and the beautiful location. Every detail was intentional, making it truly special and uniquely ours.

Favourite moments.

Our favourite moments were taking photos with our 7-month-old daughter just after the ceremony and dancing the night away with all our loved ones. The photos captured such pure joy and love, we were overwhelmed with happiness and excitement for our future. Later, being on the dance floor, surrounded by our closest family and friends, was the perfect way to celebrate. It was all unforgettable, and we’ll cherish those memories for a lifetime.

PATRICK & MARNIE’S VENDORS

Instagram was an absolute godsend during the planning process. It made it so easy to discover talented suppliers and get a real feel for their style through their work. We followed local wedding pages, browsed hashtags, and saved inspiration that aligned with our vision. It became our go-to resource, far more helpful than traditional blogs or magazines, because we could see real weddings, real-time updates, and connect directly with the people behind the work.
