Real Wedding – Paul & Emma, Albert Park VIC
Paul and Emma were all for creating a relaxed summer soiree when it came to planning their perfect wedding day.
Despite the rain dumping down on the actual day, it did nothing to dampen their spirits, in fact they felt lucky they were able to create some incredible photo opportunities out of it.
Emma’s dress was a stunner, from the team at One Day Bridal, and she felt and looked a million bucks as she made her way down the aisle to her very happy groom.
Following their sweet ceremony, Greenfields was the glamorous backdrop for reception, and they adorned it with greenery and pops of colour to set the party mood.

The meeting.
We met through mutual friends at the opening of the Emerson about six years ago.
The ‘one’.
Hard to pin-point. It’s something that creeps up on you. But when you know, you know. Random text messages that say ‘I love you beautiful’ also help along the way!
The proposal.
I was celebrating my 30th birthday and Paul had organised a getaway to Daylesford, it was full of my favourite things – The Mill Market, cider house, pizzas, paddle boats on the lake, a lovely dinner at Salt. We then arrived back at our cute little villa that was decorated – roses, candles, fire place, spa, strawberries and chocolate dipping sauce! He got down on one knee and my eyes were full of tears, I couldn’t even see Paul’s face or the ring in front of me!
The process.
Our first step was booking the venue, photographer then hair and make-up. It went in waves, once we booked the venue it lead to so many other things and then it died down and picked up again three months out. Our wedding day was 10/01/2020 so it was a bit crazy leading up to Christmas, we were trying to confirm with suppliers and meet with the venue so it wasn’t all left to the last minute.
Style inspiration.
We went a relaxed summer vibe, greenery and a pop of colour!
The dress.
I ended up at a handful of stores, all of which I found on Instagram. I’m so happy with the dress and the style, it was perfect. I always loved a fitted lace dress with the mesh inserts under the arms and over the bust area. When I saw this dress I fell in love with the fabric. It was something so different to what I had seen before and that’s what I loved about it.
Favourite moments.
There are way too many, seriously the whole day was incredible, I even enjoyed getting in and out of a Kombi van in a tight dress with a veil in the pouring rain. You could not wipe the smile off our faces! The nerves, the tears and the laughs – so many emotions and so much enjoyment, everyone says it but honestly it was the best day of our lives!
