Real Wedding – Priscilla & Jake, Sorrento VIC

In the coastal haven of Sorrento, Priscilla and Jake, high-school sweethearts for over 15 years, created a dream day resonating with sweet simplicity and modern elegance. From a serendipitous meeting in high school to a magical proposal on a Fijian beach, their romance-filled story was realised in a wedding that mirrored an elevated brand event.

Beginning with a perfectly personal yet gorgeously lighthearted ceremony by the ever-talented Marry Me Tee, this is one emotion-filled occasion that is as fun as it is stylish.

Priscilla, the epitome of understated elegance, donned a dress that spoke volumes with its contemporary lines and chic princess vibes by our friends at Karen Willis Holmes. Florals in warm peach fuzz tones with pops of soft lilac and dreamy pink add textural contrast, softening and elevating the stunning surroundings.

Priscilla and Jake’s celebration stands as a testament to authenticity and staying true to one’s vision – don’t overthink it, let it be a reflection of you, and revel in the magic of your unique love story.

The meeting.

We met in year eight at high school and have been high-school sweethearts for over 15 years.

The ‘one’.

From the moment we had our first DNM (deep and meaningful) chat at swimming sports in year nine, we were on the same page, and our souls just linked.

The proposal.

We went on a holiday to Fiji, and Jake asked me on a private beach with no one around – it was beyond magical.

Planning process.

It was actually relatively quick and seamless, as I only had six months to organise everything. Pinterest was my best friend throughout the planning process.

Style inspiration.

I wanted my wedding to symbolise us as a couple, and I am a sucker for attention to detail, so I wanted it to be like you were at an elevated brand event or celebration more than a traditional wedding.

The ceremony.

It was truly the most magical moment of our lives; as soon as the doors opened for me to walk in, Jake and I just locked eyes, and we did not take our eyes off each other; it was like no one else was there, and it was just us. Our vows were also a very special moment.

The outfit.

I wanted something simple but super elegant whilst still having a little sexiness to the dress with the tight-fitting style and super soft silk material. It was all about the dress without the noise of detail.

Favourite moments.

There were so many, but definitely, me walking down the aisle, our vows, first dance and dress change.

Meaning of marriage.

Marriage is the bond you share with your person. It’s knowing that they will always have your back and ride the waves with you; it’s actions over words and being each other’s support no matter what the world throws at us. We are a team!

Funny stories or near disasters.

I actually had a very important business meeting the day before my wedding; everyone thought I was crazy!

Words of wisdom.

Don’t overthink it, and only do what’s right for you and your partner, no one else. Everyone will have opinions; you just have to stay true to what you and your partner want for your special day.

Creating a ceremony to remember is always a balancing act – too much personaility can make it too long, too short and it loses impact. We’ve come up with some perfect ways to incorporate friends and family into your ceremony, while still keeping it fresh, fun and emotion-filled – in all the right ways.
