Real Wedding – Sam & Adel, Emerald VIC

Adel and Sam’s elopement was a stunning synergy of raw emotion and electric elegance. When their overseas elopement plans were sent awry, these two laid back lovers chose to stick true to their plans to create an effortless, love-filled occasion.

Wanting their love to be the focus of the day, Adel and Sam focused on choosing a venue that echoed their overseas dreams, and photographers to capture every emotion-filled moment. Mont du Soleil provided the perfect Spanish inspired setting for super talents Erin & Tara to create photography magic.

With an intimate and emotion-charged ceremony lead by our very own Chloe Jetson, Sam and Adel’s exchanging of vows was a moment in which time stood still.

There wasn’t a dry eye in the room as Chloe worked her magic to make it all offical for Sam and Adel and for us, their day is the embodiment of everything we love about elopements; full of uninhibited style, fun, creating a space for the truest of emotions to be expressed.

The meeting.

We met in November 2012, the old-fashioned way – at the club, though a mutual friend!

The ‘one’.

Funny that! The night I met Sam, I made a passing joke to my girlfriend who introduced us and said: “I’m probably going to marry him.” Nine years later, the rest is history!

In all seriousness, after our first date, I knew there was something so special about Sam.

The proposal.

Sam proposed on a random Thursday night at our home, as I walked in the door after a long day at work! He had taken the day off and had beautifully set up the house with a ginormous flower arrangement, balloons, champagne and my favourite sweets. It was absolutely perfect in every way possible! I definitely wasn’t expecting it!

Planning process.

We had planned our elopement six weeks before the day! Sam and I wanted to keep it very simple, intimate and stress-free. We knew we wanted a fuss-free day, so we kept everything as minimal as possible and made sure our love was the real focus of the day!

Style inspiration.

After having our previous overseas elopement plans cancelled (Rona, I’m looking at you!), I wanted to feel like I was in another country. Mont Du Soleil definitely gave off those vibes! The venue reminded me of a beautiful Château in Europe. So breathtaking!

The outfit.

I didn’t want a traditional wedding gown as it’s not my style, so I opted for a top (with a gorgeous train) from Toni Maticevski, paired with a cute mini skirt that a good friend of mine, Tarryn Viglione Couture, whipped up for me the week before! I finished off my outfit with a fun pair of strappy white sandals from The Attico.

Favourite moments.

Our ceremony. There was just something so special and intimate about exchanging our vows between the two of us. It gave us a chance to really express how we felt without having the nerves of speaking in front of a large crowd and stressing if things were going to plan or not. It was so organic and real, and there was not a dry eye (Sam, we’re mainly looking at you) in the room!

A huge thank you to Chloe Jetson, our incredible celebrant, for making the ceremony so sweet and special.

Meaning of marriage.

Ultimately, it means I now get to have the same surname as my dog! Sam and I have already built such an incredible life together, making it official was just the icing on the cake!

Funny stories or near disasters.

… covid?!

Words of wisdom.

Do what makes you happy. It will pay off in the end!

And invest in a good photographer!
