Real Wedding – Samantha & Jai, Mount Tamborine QLD

Samantha, whose career involves creating dream proposals for couples, knew exactly how to infuse her wedding to her forever person Jai with romance, elegance and personality. Imagine an Italian villa, boundless white roses and delicate touches of class, all infused with love and laughter – all realised in Samatha and Jai’s dream day.

A perfect picture of why micro weddings don’t mean small in style, these two beauties chose to stick with their original theme of timeless luxury, celebrating with a small group of their closest friends and family.

Visions Estate provided a lavishly luxe backdrop for endless epic moments, from a reveal against the marble columns, sweet kisses by the sculpted fountain, and an intimate ceremony in the Italian chapel, framed by gold leaf decor and candlelight. Samatha was a modern-day Grace Kelly, switching out her glam gown for a silky sheath to hit the dance floor as they partied poolside with their guests.

There to capture every stunning scenario was photographer Wild Romantic Photography. So, dive in to experience the beauty of this gorgeous gathering!

The meeting.

I wish we had a better story; however, ours is super cliché as Jai randomly dropped a line over Facebook Messenger.

The ‘one’.

You know you’ve found the one when you’re just totally 100% comfortable with your person. We built a solid foundation of friendship and support, which I think is important when considering your future person.

The proposal.

As the founder of Unforgettable Proposals, I plan romantic proposals for a living. As you can imagine, the pressure of pulling off the perfect proposal was quadrupled. Before flying out to Fiji for a holiday, Jai visited the location where my late father’s ashes are scattered. He filmed himself enjoying a beer with dad and asking him for his permission. Twenty-four hours later,  whilst we were both sipping on cocktails in Fiji, Jai handed me his phone and told me to watch a video on his phone. I was in complete shock to find a video of Jai proposing and then to look over and see him on bended knee!

After I said yes, he arranged a romantic private dinner on a clifftop in Fiji during sunset with our favourite champagne and foods.

Planning process.

We were originally due to tie to knot on the 9th of April 2020 with 120 guests. However, covid got in the way, and as a result, we were one of the unfortunate couples who were constantly postponing and trying to find a date that would work with all suppliers. Nightmare! In the end, we opted for a micro and intimate wedding, which worked out perfectly!

Style inspiration.

We opted for a classic and luxurious style, with lush white florals, candlelight and crystal offering a lot of reflection and warmth. The venue and lush grounds offered a stunning backdrop!

The ceremony.

Visions Estate has a beautiful small chapel on the grounds. The chapel was in its original state and had never been used, so when we opened the creaky large timber doors and stepped into the Italian inspired chapel, we knew this was perfect for us.

The chapel was complete with stone, hanging gold chandeliers, gold flake through the ceiling and the cutest wedding bell above.

The outfit.

Finding the dress was surprisingly easy; it was the third dress I dried on at our first appointment. I’ve always been inspired by Grace Kelly, and she was my inspiration going into my dress selection.

Favourite moments.

My favourite moment was during the ceremony with all the candlelight around us; it felt intimate and perfect.

Wedding soundtrack.

Aisle: Can’t help falling in love by Kina Grannis

Recessional: Let’s Stay Together by Al Green

Reception entry: For You by Liam Payne, Rita Ora

First dance: If I Ain’t Got You by James Bay

Funny stories or near disasters.

The weekend of the wedding was flash flooding in Mount Tamborine!

Words of wisdom.

You need to decide on the style you are going for and commit to it. Try to avoid Pinterest as you’ll see something beautiful and constantly change your mind. Once you start being indecisive, this will make the planning process more stressful.

And invest in a great photo and video team!

From jaw-dropping ball gowns to float down the aisle, to sleekly chic sheaths to heat up the dance floor, our collection of fashion creators will have you spoilt for choice. Grab your girls, crack a glass of bubbles and get scrolling, here!
