Real Wedding – Sarah & James, West Melbourne VIC
Some might think you can’t plan a sensational wedding in six months, well Sarah and James will prove you wrong!
Born organisers, this darling duo began planning post engagement and pulled off a warehouse wedding with wow.
Gather & Tailor was the perfect space and location for their black-tie affair and after they exchanged vows, they were able to relax and soak up the day while listening to their family and friends make speeches before hitting the dance floor all night long.
Sarah was a vision in Karen Willis Holmes and there to capture all the action was Georgia Verrells.
In their words…
The meeting.
Went to school together in Geelong. Wasn’t until after both finishing school that we started to run into each other at social events and house parties in Melbourne, this is where it all started. Began dating after a football ball in 2013. Dated for around 5.5 years before that.
The proposal.
James popped the question: It was the 3rd of January this year that James suggested that we head out for a walk in the You Yangs. He got down on one knee and asked the question. Answer being YES of course!
The process.
It was a six month engagement. So we were in planning mode from the very beginning. We are both organisers so it wasn’t too hard, although it all does become quite consuming.
Style inspiration.
We wanted somewhere big that we could style and bring in the suppliers we wanted and have as many guests as we wished. Gather and Tailor allowed this to be very easily done. They were extremely approachable in many aspects of the organizing process and eager to help out where ever possible.
The dress.
I knew I wanted capped sleeves. Karen Willis Holmes was one of the only shops I looked in before making the decision – They have some incredible styles. Black tie was a no brainer for us – it sets the scene for a formal occasion.
Favourite moments.
Loved the reception, dancing and listening to the speeches.
Wedding soundtrack.
Aisle: Higher Love by James Vincent Mcmorrow
Recessional: Dancing in the Moonlight by Jubel
Reception entry: Young hearts run free by Candi Station
First dance: Stayin’ Alive by Bee Gees
Words of wisdom.
Be super organised from the very beginning. Record down everything. Excel spreadsheets were our best friend!
Sari and Mark’s wedding was an absolute stunner and their marquee is a must see – head here for all the action.
