Real Wedding – Sarah & Shlomi, Coldstream VIC
The elegant gardens of Coombe Estate couldn’t have been more fitting for Sarah and Shlomi to wed. Classic in style and breathtaking in beauty – the romance of this day is clear.
Dotted with dream moments that they will remember for a lifetime, Sarah and Shlomi chose to be true to themselves as a couple, in their approach to planning their day, and it certainly didn’t disappoint.
We think you’ll love the work of our Tribe talent, Lovers Narrative, as she tells the story of Sarah and Shlomi’s day just beautifully.
In Sarah and Schlomi’s words…
Style inspiration.
We wanted our wedding to be timeless, fun, honest, and relaxed. Coombe Estate in the Yarra Valley provided the perfect setting – breathtaking gardens, and an elegant and romantic interior where we could enjoy the warm atmosphere, and share great food and wine with our most loved people.
The ceremony took place in the Italian garden, a backdrop of green tall hedges and conifer trees, apple and cherry blossoms.
With a short walk to the reception, within the homestead, built with floor to ceiling windows looking out to the incredible landscape and exposed timber beams. An abundance of green native foliage, with soft vine leaves and a cream blooms delicately filled space and transformed their reception into an oasis, bringing the outside in.
The dress.
Top of my wedding dress checklist was a dress that I would be comfortable in, and could dance the night away in! I also wanted to find something that was true to my personal style and “me” whilst still being special.
I actually had an initial wedding dress disaster and a few weeks before the wedding day, realised that the dress I bought was not “the one” (at least it was only the dress, and not the husband!)
I had previously spotted another bride on an online blog in the Suzanne Harward ‘Belle’ gown. I fell in love, and the Suzanne Harward team came to my rescue!
It’s amazing what you can pull off in a short amount of time (with some luck)!!
I had found some beautiful accessory pieces that were simple and complimented the gown, and that I could use again which was important for me……..shoes by Jimmy Choo, earring by Tiffany & Co. and a chained hair piece by LeletNY.
Favourite moments.
Neither of us have family in Australia so it was very special to have everyone altogether under one roof for our special day; the speeches were very touching and brought a few tears, as well as many laughs!
Sarah – Driving to the ceremony with my dad; just the two of us. It was quite emotional but a very special moment for both of us.
Shlomi – Making our first entrance to the reception as husband and wife to cut the cake, and seeing all of our family and closest friends surrounding us and so happy for us.
Wedding soundtrack.
We had a seven-piece jazz band, The Sugarfoot Ramblers, for our ceremony and the start of the reception – we thought this suited the venue, and was elegant but entertaining and fun.
First Dance: Can’t Take my Eyes Off You by Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons – a timeless classic, starts slow and romantic, but then steps up and gets everyone on the dancefloor!
Words of wisdom.
Be true to yourself as a couple and keep to the things that will make you feel happy and relaxed on the day.
The Yarra Valley always leaves us breathless with its beauty. For some of our favourite venues in the region, click here.
