Real Wedding – Shelley & Tim, Mount Eliza VIC

For Shelley and Tim, wedding planning was a piece of cake – they simply surrounded themselves with a Tribe they loved and kept the day about family, friends and a whole lot of fun times.

Taking place at a stunning property in the seaside town of Mount Eliza, Shelley wowed her guests in a gorgeous One Day Bridal gown. Music was of utmost importance to the couple so they hired Ivory Tribe favourites, Rutherford Entertainment, using a live saxophone player who not only made a grand entrance, but was responsible for really getting the party started!

There to capture it all was talented photographer and Tribe member, Michael Briggs – who hasn’t missed a beat in documenting this stunning celebration.

IN SHELLEY’S WORDS…

The meeting.

We met when I was 16 and Tim was 18 – through my brother Brent. So it’s thanks to my brother I married the man of my dreams.

The one.

We just always knew.

The proposal.

It wasn’t a surprise as we got my ring made together. We had been together for 12 years so we didn’t want the big surprise engagement – well that’s what I thought we’d discussed. I knew the ring was still a few weeks off being completed (or so I thought) when we decided to head to Noosa for a few nights to take some time out. It is one of our favourite places and was our first ever holiday destination. Little did I know that the ring was already made. Tim popped the question and I got the rock I always wanted!

Planning process.

It was all pretty relaxing thanks to our amazing event planner (Lisa at Tommy Collins). We had a vision and our suppliers completely nailed it! My best friend and maid of honour Jess, as well as my mum, helped with everything also.

Style inspiration.

It was all about our guests – we wanted our family and friends to feel relaxed while enjoying good food and alcohol. There was something for everyone to enjoy. We had a relaxed, casual feel but glamorous style. I didn’t want anyone to feel uncomfortable and out of place. Of course the music was also really important – our surprise saxophone player from Rutherford Entertainment was amazing!

The dress.

It was the easiest part of the wedding. I knew One Day Bridal would make my wedding dress. I went there, tried on one style and that was it! The process, fittings and everything about One Day Bridal was perfect. A special mention to Steph Kinsman!

Favourite moment.

Walking down the aisle with my Dad and seeing Tim’s face.

Traditions.

We had a separate table at the ceremony with photos and candles for our loved ones who are no longer with us – my Nan and Tim’s grandparents.

Meaning of marriage.

Happiness.

Wedding soundtrack.

Aisle: Slide by Goo Goo Dolls – it’s been our song since high school – My brother and my cousin performed this song at the wedding.

Reception entry: Crazy In Love by Beyoncé featuring Jay Z

First Dance: Stand By Me by Ben E King

The surprise saxophone player came down the staircase playing the song Jubel by Klingande! It got the party started and was simply amazing!

Words of wisdom.

It’s only about the two of you!
