High School sweethearts Steph and John have shared many a magic memory together, none more so than their stunning seaside wedding celebration at RACV Torquay resort.

A traditional ceremony, effortlessly elegant styling and a couple so truly in love – what more could you want?

See here their gorgeous day, as captured by the talented Tori & Sal.

IN STEPH’S WORDS…

The meeting.

We went to high school together and first met on the beach in Lorne.

The one.

We have been together since finishing high school together so I guess you could say we have known for a while now.

The proposal.

John blindfolded me and took me to a lookout in Lorne which he had blocked off from the public. He then dropped one knee to a memorable sunset and candle lit platform. He also managed to capture the whole thing on GoPro video.

The process.

Apart from some rushing around to erect the flower wall for the reception the day before, everything fell into place.

Style inspiration.

We opted for a formal wedding in regards to dress and dining, however we really wanted it to be a big party and full of fun so having lots of colourful flowers at the reception and some awesome music definitely made our wedding.

The dress.

What I had initially imagined I would wear couldn’t be further from what I ended up choosing! After trying a few dresses on I saw a picture in a magazine and worked with Pearls & Roses to create my dress using the image as inspiration.

Favourite moments.

Seeing each other at the alter and our first dance was pretty special. The band learnt a couple of songs for us and it was perfect. As soon as we finished our dance everyone joined us on the floor to get the celebrations started.

Traditions.

John and his family did a few Greek Orthodox traditions before the ceremony.

Meaning of marriage.

In short, marriage for us is a confirmation of our abiding love for one another and being able to support and encourage each other in all that life may bring.

Wedding soundtrack.

Aisle: Haley Reinhart version of Can’t Help Falling In Love, performed by Like This Band

First dance: Paperkites – Bloom, performed by Like This Band

Funny stories (or near disasters).

Nothing I can think of or noticed. Everything went smoothly.

Planning surprises.

Booking suppliers early!! I couldn’t believe how far in advance suppliers booked out.

Words of wisdom.

Book suppliers in for your date as early as you can.
