Real Wedding – Tom & Georgia, St Kilda VIC

Before Tom and Georgia met, they’d never known anyone who made them laugh so much. As we scrolled through their incredible photos by Katie Harmsworth, it was so evident that this endless, infectious laughter was the true theme of the day! From their sublime smiles as they caught sight of each other for the first time, to their ecstatic energy on the dance floor, the love did not let up.

Tom and Georgia chose to say their I Do’s against the lush natural surrounds of Glasshouse Outside, then kicked on to celebrate in the opulent elegance of The George Ballroom in St Kilda.

Georgia was a picture of absolute perfection in her gown by our favourite gal Georgia Young. Florals by Pomp and Splendour added the perfect finishing touch to a picture of sumptuous styling in rich, deep tones and classic black and white.

The meeting.

We met in 2014, we are both producers in the TV industry and met working on Masterchef.

The one.

It was the laughter. This is always the same answer for both of us, because when we found each other, we’d never met someone who made us laugh so much.

The proposal.

Tom proposed in 2018, towards the end of a month long holiday in Europe. We were in Lake Como and Tom took Georgia to a beautiful garden where he had even Google mapped the exact seat he wanted to propose on. Tom then gave Georgia a booklet of photos that told their story, the last line said that Tom had something to ask her.

Planning process.

We had a decent lead up to the wedding (18 months), after locking in the main suppliers and venues we were able to spend our time on the finer details.

Style inspiration.

We wanted an elegant event filled with deep and rich coloured flowers.

The outfit.

Contemporary classic. We both wanted a classic look that felt modern. Georgia: After endless research I thought I’d have to end up with a dress I liked but didn’t love. Thankfully I found Georgia Young who had a number of incredible dresses that I loved.

Favourite moment.

Seeing each other for the first time at either end of the aisle. In that moment, we both forgot where we were and became overwhelmed with excitement just to see one another.

Meaning of marriage.

A chance to proudly link our lives permanently, and commit to laughing together for the rest of our days.

Wedding soundtrack.

Lovely Day by Bill Withers, we both love the lyric ‘just one look at you and the world’s all right with me’. We entered the reception to Justin Timberlake’s Can’t Stop the Feeling and our first dance was to Whitney Houston’s Wanna Dance With Somebody.
