There’s a particular quality to a photograph shot on 35mm film, or a wedding reel captured on Super 8. It doesn’t look like a memory, it feels like one. That tension between modern polish and analogue warmth is the heart of what Caity & Duncan call “modern nostalgia,” and it runs through everything their studio produces.
Founded in 2018, Caity & Duncan has grown from a duo into a boutique studio with a handpicked team of photographers and filmmakers, each trained to bring the same calm presence and considered eye to your day. Caity and Duncan remain the creative directors across every wedding, shaping the brief, matching you with the right team, and guiding the edit, so the work carries a consistent warmth and visual identity no matter who’s behind the camera.
The studio works across digital, 35mm film and Super 8, layering formats within a single collection to give your gallery genuine depth and texture.
Your coverage is documentary in nature, with enough editorial direction to produce portraits that feel polished without ever feeling stiff.
From heritage venues in Melbourne to the hills of Tuscany, the team travels for weddings across Australia and internationally.
Collections start from $5,500 and range from photography-only through to full-day photo and film packages, ceremony and speeches footage, highlight films, and fine art albums, with Super 8 as an add on. Every couple receives personalised planning support, timeline design, and an online gallery for viewing and sharing.
The studio takes on a strictly limited number of weddings each year.
“We truly cannot thank Caity & Duncan enough for everything they did for us on our wedding day. From the moment they arrived, they made us feel so comfortable, calm and genuinely cared for. It never felt like we were just being photographed or filmed — it felt like we were spending the day with friends who were just as excited about our wedding as we were.
Their warmth, kindness and energy made such a difference to our entire experience, and they created such a relaxed atmosphere that allowed us to completely enjoy every moment of the day. They worked so seamlessly together and captured everything so naturally and beautifully.
Not only are they incredibly talented at what they do, but they are also such beautiful people. We feel so lucky to have had them be part of such a special day and could not recommend them more highly. Thank you both for making us feel so loved and celebrated.”
