The Lane described Chloe May’s work as having “a sense of serenity”, unrehearsed, unassuming, candid, and that’s as precise a description as you’ll find.
Her images have a particular quality of light: soft, natural, almost painterly. The compositions are editorial in their framing but never in their energy. Nothing feels staged. Nothing feels hurried. You’re looking at two people in beautiful light, being exactly themselves, in a photograph that will look as good in thirty years as it does now.
That visual consistency is deliberate. Chloe May Photography operates as a studio, with Chloe as the creative director and a team of senior photographers who shoot under her direction. Chloe personally curates, edits and colour-grades every gallery, which is why the work carries a unified look and feel regardless of who holds the camera on your day. It’s a model that allows the studio to take on more weddings without diluting the aesthetic, and it means you’re assured of quality.
Four wedding collections are available, ranging from intimate coverage delivering 400 to 600 images through to full-day packages with up to 900 images and a fine art wedding album. All galleries include a mix of colour and black-and-white images, a password-protected online gallery, and a personal print store. A second photographer can be added to any package (minimum five hours), and 35mm analogue film is available as an add-on of two to three rolls shot alongside digital. Additional coverage is $350 per hour. Turnaround is eight to ten weeks.
Chloe May Photography is based in Melbourne and travels worldwide — recent destination work includes Puglia, Italy. The studio’s work has been published in Vogue, The Lane, Together Journal, Ivory Tribe, Theodore and Luna & Honey.

“We are forever grateful we chose Chloe to be our wedding photographer! Her kind, caring, and down-to-earth nature shone through, making us feel completely at ease. She truly has a “care factor” that made a huge difference on our special day.
The photos she captured are nothing short of incredible. We still can’t believe the quality and creativity of her work! What’s even more amazing is how seamlessly she worked – we barely noticed her on the day, yet she managed to get the most candid shots that perfectly captured the true essence of our wedding.
Chloe goes above and beyond, making a real effort to suggest the best areas for photos and utilising the best parts of the venue and lighting. Her approach is wonderfully creative, but she also allowed us to be our natural selves, never forcing poses. This resulted in authentic, beautiful images that truly reflect who we are.
We are forever grateful to Chloe for creating these lifelong memories for us. If you’re looking for a wedding photographer who delivers results with warmth and professionalism, Chloe is by far the best choice yet!”
