Most wedding venues have a kitchen. Lake House has a restaurant; two-hatted, 13,000 bottles deep, and run by the same family since 1984. That distinction elevates every couple’s experience here. The food isn’t a catering package added to a pretty room; instead, it’s the indomitable centrepoint.
Set on six acres of country gardens on the shores of Lake Daylesford, in the heart of Victoria’s Spa Country, Lake House is owned and operated by the Wolf-Tasker family. Culinary Director Alla Wolf-Tasker has built a reputation over four decades for seasonal, locally sourced menus that genuinely reflect the region, and that philosophy is embedded into every wedding held here.
Three distinct spaces give you real options across scale and mood. The Cellar seats up to 14 around a handmade American Oak table surrounded by a wall of wine, ideal for an intimate post-elopement dinner. The Waterfront Pavilion seats up to 40 guests, with glass walls overlooking the lagoon and lake and hand-waxed recycled timber tables.
And The Terrace is the main event space, architecturally designed with soaring ceilings, stone features, a private bar, and capacity for up to 150 guests with room for a stage and dance floor.
Ceremonies take place outdoors beneath the silver birches on the lake shore, one of the most photographed settings in Daylesford.
Your menu is shaped by Alla Wolf-Tasker and her team, drawing on four decades of regional knowledge and a cellar recently recognised as the best in the country. Choose from multi-course tasting menus or generous shared feasts, with options like champagne towers, whisky or amaro stations, and curated wine pairings. Wedding packages start from $325 per person.
Book The Terrace and your first night is complimentary in the Sutton Suite, offering a king bed, contemporary country interiors, and a private courtyard. For a longer stay, Dairy Flat Farm by Lake House is an exclusive country lodge on a regenerative farm with six suites, mineral pool, hot tub, fire pit, and chef’s kitchen, a natural base for your bridal party the night before.
The on-site spa also runs pre-wedding packages if you want to build in some downtime before the day.

Lake House suits couples who want their wedding to feel like the best weekend away they’ve ever hosted, where the food, wine, and setting do the heavy lifting and the celebration unfolds naturally around a long table. If dining is at the centre of how you want your guests to experience the day, this is a venue built exactly for that.
“We had our wedding ceremony and reception at the Lake House Daylesford. It was incredible from the preparations, communication, our room, the service, the ceremony, food, drinks, reception – everything was perfect. Christina is an outstanding event coordinator and ensured everything ran smoothly for our big day. I cannot speak highly enough about all the staff. Highly recommend the Lake House for any event.”
