Jess Apap spent a decade in fashion photography before she ever shot a wedding. It shows.
Her images have a compositional instinct that comes from working with styling, light and movement, perfectly adapted to a real-life context. She directs when it matters (portraits, couple time, editorial moments), then steps back into documentary mode and lets everything else unfold without interference. The result is photography that feels editorially composed but emotionally unguarded.
Jess calls the moments she’s drawn to “the one-percenters” – the glances, gestures and quiet exchanges that happen in the gaps between the big moments. It’s a useful phrase, because it describes exactly where her attention goes: not just to the first kiss or the bouquet toss, but to the seconds either side of them.

Jess leads a small team and every wedding is covered by two photographers, giving broader coverage and more candid angles without adding a second shooter as an afterthought.
