There are so many elements of a wedding day that add to the overall experience, signage and stationery is certainly one of them.

Often beginning with your ‘save the dates’, a cohesive theme or tone is set through the styling, language and execution of your signage, and boy is it an area in which you can have some fun.

From boards adorned with gorgeous florals, quirky and clever copy that will give your guests a giggle, to sentimental greetings that bring the warm and fuzzies – stellar signage is often a sign of a good time to follow.

But like most things wedding planning, it can be confusing to know what signage to consider, read on for stunning signage ideas.

Welcome Signs.

Welcome signs are a gorgeous way to welcome your guests and is often one of the first things your guests see, so it sets the tone for the style and vibe of your day. It typically includes your names, potentially the date and venue and have some fun by including your wedding hashtag too.

Ceremony Decor.

Dress up your ceremony with sweet signage that can either provide a fabulous focal point or even give some handy hints to guests. Planning on an unplugged ceremony and want to re-inforce the point? A stunning sign might just help, and while your celebrant will most likely make this clear before your ceremony commences, it doesn’t harm setting expectations early.

Directions.

If you’re hosting a wedding in a large space or on a private property, you may want to consider signage that directs your guests on where they’re going, especially if your ceremony and reception are taking place in separate locations. Signage can also help if there’s something you want to direct guests to do – think taking happy snaps in a particular location or telling your guests there is no assigned seating at your ceremony or reception.

Seating charts.

Of all wedding signage, this is possibly the most important. Letting guests know where they will be seated will save a lot of headaches when your MC is trying to gather the crowd to start the party. It will also let guests know who they will be seated with so the mingling can commence, while keeping an organised flow to your day.

Bar signage.

Dress up your bar with signage, particularly if you’re offering a signature cocktail or certain kinds of drinks your guests can choose from. Feel free to inject your personalities with bar signage or menus to have your guests feeling excited for the frivolity and fun that lays ahead.

Gifts and cards.

Guests are always keen to offload their gifts and cards, and it’s often one of the first questions they will ask family and suppliers so they can get on with enjoying your day – sweet signage to point them in the right direction is always helpful.

Neon.

When the lights go down, have fun with signage you and your guests can see well into the night. It could be your names, a quote, or some words that resonate with you, but neon signage also becomes the perfect keepsake to proudly hang in your home long after your day has been and gone.
