At some point in an excellent wedding ceremony, the room leans in. People stop being guests and start being part of it, and by the time the vows land, nobody is watching from the outside. That shift is what Zena builds every ceremony towards.
Warm, calming and beautifully authentic, Zena is based on the Bellarine Peninsula with more than 200 five-star Google reviews and a decade of experience in the industry behind her, and works across Geelong, the Surf Coast, the Otways, Melbourne and beyond.
Zena’s couples tend to want much the same thing. A day judged on how it felt rather than how it photographed, guests who feel welcomed into the ceremony instead of seated in front of it, and someone warm and steady enough on the mic that the nervous one of the pair stops dreading the walk up. Ceremonies run fifteen to twenty-five minutes, long enough to say something true and short enough to hold the room.
Getting there takes a planning workbook, a build-out meeting, a final check-in and a script written from scratch, with her assistant Angie running the admin alongside it. Zena handles every piece of the legal paperwork, from the Notice of Intended Marriage through to lodgement with Births, Deaths and Marriages. Vow writing support is included, and in her system it starts with a date night.
The Golden Ceremony Experience starts at $1,850, with a standard package occasionally available on selected dates from $1,550. Elopements start at $1,200, and simple legals-only ceremonies from $600. Zena also says plainly that if budget is the thing stopping you, reach out anyway.
She’s married people in backyards, on riverbanks, in a photo booth and, once, in a river. Dogs are welcome with a lead and a designated handler, kids are taken as they come, and cultural or family elements get built in rather than accommodated. Zena works with plenty of queer couples and adapts language so the ceremony fits the people standing in it. She’s a funeral celebrant too, which tells you something about the range of rooms she can hold with a rare grace and empathy.
“If you’re looking for a celebrant, stop searching and book Zena immediately!
From the moment we met her, she was warm, welcoming, hilarious, and somehow made the entire process feel completely effortless. Planning a wedding can be stressful, but with Zena, everything just felt easy and natural.
The ceremony is the most important part of the day. It sets the tone, brings everyone together, and tells your story. Zena absolutely nailed ours. She had everyone laughing one minute, crying the next, and completely invested from start to finish. She captured us perfectly and shared our story in such a beautiful, genuine, and entertaining way.
So many of our guests commented afterwards on how incredible the ceremony was, and that’s all thanks to Zena.
Thank you for making our day so special, for keeping us calm, and for giving us a ceremony we’ll never forget. You’re an absolute superstar, bloody amazing at what you do, and honestly one of the best decisions we made for our wedding!”
