Real Wedding – Megan & Patrick, Portarlington VIC

Crystal clear skies, the freshest elegance and effortless fun, coalesce to perfection in Megan and Patrick’s blissful celebration. Coastal meets chic with expansive ocean views, the perfect backdrop by Jack Rabbit Vineyards for an epic celebration to unfold.

Megan wears a minimalist gown by Khya, bringing aesthetic dynamics through its sleek silhouette and perfectly crisp bodice cut, softened with creamy draping detail. With the simple accessories, Megan allows the gown to take the focus, second only to her megawatt smile and bombshell glow! Patrick can’t take the grin off his face, looking every bit the sleek leading man in a crisp black suit by Peter Jackson.

Bridesmaids in soft sage add a timeless touch, echoed through the florals and tablescapes, and kept classic yet fun with perfectly balanced typography and white-on-white linens. Adding a vintage touch while recording the ultimate memories is the audio guest book by our friends at Off the Hook.

For us, it’s the images of the newlyweds at golden hour, bathed in sunset glow and captured to perfection by Smith and Archer, that we keep returning to.

Scroll on for every perfectly framed moment.

The meeting.

It was love at first swipe! After chatting for a while on Bumble, we thought it was time to go on a date. I cooked my famous Cornish pasties and Pat describes it as love at first bite. The rest is history.

The ‘one’.

Pat: I knew when she first donned the Carlton Blues scarf!

Megan: I knew the day I swiped right.

The proposal.

Pat took me to 16th Beach in St Andrews and didn’t talk the whole car ride because he was so nervous. Once on the beach, he played our favourite song, got down on one knee and popped the question.

Planning process.

Stress-free, we made sure to have timelines and dates of when payments, questions, seating charts, etc, needed to be in. All our vendors were incredible, and they made the process really easy!

Style inspiration.

We wanted something laid-back but classy.

The ceremony.

We love Jack Rabbit; the destination is super sentimental to us as Megan’s family all live in Ocean Grove. Having our closest friends and family be there for our special day meant the world.

The outfit.

I always knew I wanted a dress from Kyha, so I booked a trial fitting and found my dress after the second try-on.

Patrick took a more laid-back approach and went to Peter Jackson six weeks out.

Favourite moments.

Saying I do!

Meaning of marriage.

Marriage means spending the rest of our lives together, getting old together and making the most out of life together. There will be hard days and great days, but being in it together makes everything easier.

Wedding soundtrack.

Aisle: Here Comes the Sun by The Beatles (piano version)

Reception entry: This Will Be (An Everlasting Love) by Natalie Cole

First dance: Only Love by Ben Howard

Funny stories or near disasters.

Pat overpaid the florist by $500 in an attempt to help me out! It was an easy fix, though.

Planning surprises.

How quickly the time goes. Soak it all up because once the day is done, you want to do it all again!

Words of wisdom.

Take time out of the wedding day to be with your partner. The day goes so quickly, and it honestly is worth all the stress and tears!

Megan and Patrick set their planning process of to the best start by surrounding themselves with a truly talented group of wedding professionals – but how to choose the perfect vendors for your dream day? We recommend diving straight into our directory, for some of the best in the business (and dare we mention, the most fun?!)
