Veiled rose: bridal art at Carte Blache Bride.

As we entered the softly intentional, effortlessly chic atelier of Carte Blanche Bride, I was immediately taken by the hero image of the collection – a bride, veiled and beset by gold gilding, hauntingly staring back from within the frame.

There’s something arresting about her gaze, something that holds you in place. She is both present and distant, seen and hidden, making me want to know her story – the story behind the bride.

This is Veiled Rose, the inaugural women’s artist exhibition at Carte Blanche Bride, featuring mixed-media works by Alisha Ryan. It marks a rare intersection of bridal ritual, fine art, and a deeply intentional creative practice, one that treats beauty as presence.

The collaboration between Alisha and Carte Blanche Bride founder Anastasia Williams represents a full-circle narrative. Alisha first entered the showroom as a client, but, through her own warm curiosity to know her brides and understand their style at a deeper level, Anastasia recognised a light and creative depth in Alisha.

Ryan is a self-taught artist whose work is a masterclass in texture and restraint. In Veiled Rose, she explores the bride as a sacred archetype, a figure suspended between revelation and reverence. Through her signature mixed-media approach, Ryan treats the veil as a liminal boundary, where sight gives way to feeling. Her work unfolds as an offering, held in thankfulness for the natural world that inspires it.

In an era of digital overexposure, Ryan’s practice is intentionally private. She rarely presents her work online, making this physical exhibition a rare opportunity to witness her luminous aesthetic in person. The collection invites a necessary pause, urging the viewer to remember love as a sacred, quiet force.

Each piece in the collection carries this same deliberate restraint; figures rendered with delicate precision, halos of gold leaf, candles held in reverent hands, roses emerging from subtle shadow. There’s a quality of stillness here that feels almost devotional and works in play with the pared-back elegance of the Carte Blanche collection.

These are not illustrations of brides; they are meditations on the threshold itself – the moment before, the breath held, the quiet power of beginning.

Veiled Rose is currently open to the public at Carte Blanche Bride and will extend through to the end of March 2026. Original artworks are available for purchase, and private weekend viewing appointments with Anastasia or Alisha are available by request.

For a showroom already known for its refined approach to bridal, this exhibition feels like a natural extension, a space where the ritual of becoming is honoured not just through sartorial style, but through art that understands the weight and beauty of that transformation.

Book your appointment at Carte Blanche Bridal, and explore not only the stunnign artwork, but their impecabbly curated collection of bridal gowns, accessories and reception outfits.
