Bright flowers, pink bridesmaids and all the feels

A boutique winery nestled in the heart of Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula, Trofeo Estate provided the perfect setting for Sam and Jordyn’s beautiful celebration.

At the heart of the day was an incredibly emotional ceremony, surrounded by loved ones and overflowing with beautiful details. Jordyn looked every bit the modern bride in a gorgeous Kyha gown, while Sam proved that grooms don’t have to play it safe, setting his look apart in a sophisticated cream jacket.

Colour was a big part of the celebration, with the bridesmaids dressed in a beautiful shade of pink and bold florals making their way throughout the day – from the bouquets and ceremony arrangements through to the reception.

But when it came to their best decision and top tip for other couples, Sam and Jordyn kept it simple: invest in incredible vendors. The right team can make all the difference, taking care of the details so couples can be fully present and enjoy every moment of their wedding day.

And looking at these two, they certainly did just that – beautifully captured by the talented Hannah Briggs.

Style inspiration.

Our wedding style was rustic with a vibrant, colorful twist. We really wanted to move away from traditional neutral florals and bring in bold, bright flowers that reflected our personalities. Our venue had a naturally rustic feel, and its warm, earthy tones complemented the soft pink bridesmaid dresses and colorful florals perfectly.

Planning process.

The planning process was great overall. We got engaged and then planned our wedding for a year later, so finding vendors within that timeframe was sometimes challenging. However, we were incredibly lucky and ended up with the most amazing team. One thing that surprised us was how much of the planning happens in the final weeks leading up to the wedding, with meetings, final details, and vendor coordination all coming together at once.

We relied heavily on Instagram to find vendors, as well as recommendations from friends who had already been married. Pinterest was also a great source of inspiration. Jordyn’s mum had bright, colorful flowers on her wedding day, and that became a big source of inspiration for us when deciding on our floral style.

The ceremony.

The ceremony was incredible. We had a fantastic celebrant who made everything run seamlessly. It was filled with so much emotion from both of us (especially Sam!), and we’ve had so many guests tell us afterwards how emotional it was and how much love they could feel throughout the ceremony.

The outfits.

Jordyn’s dress was from Kyha. It was simple, elegant, fitted perfectly, and felt exactly right from the moment she tried it on. The bridesmaid dresses were from Bec + Bridge, and we were looking for a very specific shade of pink, which they delivered perfectly. The boys wore classic black suits, but we wanted Sam to stand out from the groomsmen, so he wore a luxurious cream jacket.

Favourite styling detail.

Without a doubt, the flowers. People haven’t stopped talking about them since the wedding day. They were everything we had envisioned.

Best bits.

The entire day was amazing, but if we had to choose, it would be either the ceremony or the reception after dinner. There was so much love and energy in the room, and we genuinely never wanted the day to end.

Wedding soundtrack.

Home by Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros was our aisle song, performed live by our acoustic musician, who was fantastic. Our reception band, Olly and Scuzzy, were absolutely incredible and kept the atmosphere going all night. We had several guests tell us they were the best wedding band they had ever seen, which was such a compliment.

Funny stories (or near disasters).

Jordyn’s veil flew off in the wind during the ceremony! At the time it was a little unexpected, but now it makes us laugh.

Words of wisdom.

If possible, invest in great vendors. Sam and I often talk about how much of a difference our vendors and venue made to our wedding day. From the planning process through to the day itself, every single person was professional, organised and genuinely invested in making our day special. They took care of every detail and worked so seamlessly behind the scenes that we were able to be completely present and enjoy every moment with our family and friends.

Looking back, one of the best decisions we made was choosing amazing vendors. Their experience and attention to detail gave us so much confidence throughout the process and the day ran more perfectly than we could have imagined. We truly could not recommend our venue and vendors highly enough and feel incredibly lucky to have had such an amazing team bringing our vision to life.
