Real Wedding – Natarlia & Jamie, Warrandyte VIC
Natarlia and Jamie had their guests in hysterics when they kicked their day off with an incredible wedding ceremony with fabulous Tribe celebrant Shannon Jeans at the helm.
The perfect pair kept their day relaxed and stuck true to who they are, to ensure that their guests could feel the love and laughter they share in their relationship.
Hitting the dancefloor, they celebrated into the night and Warren Photography was there to capture it all.
In Natarlia’s words…
The meeting.
We met by random chance on a night out in September 2009. Apparently, he saw me on the Friday night at The Vineyard in St Kilda and didn’t say anything. We then both (by chance) happened to go there again on the Sunday and he plucked up the courage to talk to me. Then one thing lead to another and here we are now.
The ‘one’.
In the early stages, when you suddenly want to spend every minute with this person and want to spend the rest of your life doing so.
The proposal.
On a random trip to Darwin to spend some time with my parents (and crocodiles) he surprised me by popping the question on a sunset champagne yacht cruise. Custom made Gold Ring with a Black Diamond.
Planning process.
A very organic cruisey process over a year which allowed for time to save money, so there was no stress and plenty of excitement.
Style inspiration.
Fun and sociable cocktail wedding, taking inspiration from who we truly are as a couple.
The dress.
This would have been the hardest process for me as I did not go into the process knowing what I wanted, and after not having much luck I decided to get one made. Meeting Vicki from Valliski Couture was my dream dress maker, she was honest, had years of experience and understood my vision straight away.
Favourite moment.
The ceremony – our celebrant, Shannon Jeans, could not have delivered it any better. The crowd was in hysterics the entire time, sharing memorable stories, funny moments and most importantly honesty – who would have known ceremonies could be so fun!
Meaning of marriage.
Demonstrating your love in front of family and friends and making a one hundred percent commitment.
Wedding Soundtrack.
Northern Wind – City and Color
Funny stories (or near disasters).
The biggest near disaster was allowing my husband to be have his bucks the Thursday before our wedding. Lucky for me all eyebrows were intact the morning after.
Planning surprises.
Probably organising the ceremony, who would have thought we would enjoy this so much. It’s a great way to revisit your relationship – when you first met, why you are getting married and reflect on all the best memories you have shared together already. It really reminds you of why you are together.
Words of wisdom.
Stay true to yourselves, there is so much inspiration everywhere it can be hard to filter it down. You know each other best and after all, the day is about you as a couple not someone else.
