A tiered tulle skirt that moved all night

Jacob and Georgia’s wedding was a beautiful blend of timeless elegance, earthy tones and relaxed romance.

Drawn to beautiful landscapes and natural architecture, they chose a soft, nature-inspired aesthetic that flowed effortlessly from their ceremony at The Cambium through to their reception at The Epicurean Red Hill.

White florals, rich chocolate brown bridesmaid dresses and warm, earthy tones complemented the Red Hill setting beautifully, while Georgia’s soft ivory gown was a true showstopper. With its beautifully structured silhouette and playful, swishing skirt, it brought a modern elegance to the day – and looked even better once the dancing began.

The rustic, Italian-inspired charm of The Epicurean was the perfect fit for their celebration: effortlessly beautiful, wonderfully relaxed and made for a long night of good food, great company and plenty of dancing.

A beautiful day, brought together and captured so beautifully by the Ever After Effect team.

The meeting.

We met when we were partnered in our best friend’s wedding as a bridesmaid and groomsman. We had not met prior due to Jacob living in Melbourne and myself being from Mildura. We were introduced at the rehearsal dinner and quickly discovered how easy it was to talk to one another. After spending time together throughout the wedding celebrations, what started as a friendship soon grew into something more.

The one.

Jacob says he knew I was “the one” after the very first weekend we spent together. I knew from the start that there was something special between us too. I was just a little more cautious because of the distance between us and because a relationship wasn’t something I was actively looking for at the time. Despite that, our connection felt effortless, and it didn’t take long for me to realise he was someone I couldn’t imagine my life without.

The proposal.

Jacob proposed on our way back to Mildura for Easter. As the sun was setting, he pulled over to let our two dogs have a run in a paddock. I thought it was just a quick stop to stretch their legs, but when I turned around, Jacob was down on one knee. It was completely unexpected, beautifully simple, and made even more special with our two dogs there to witness it all.

Planning process.

We absolutely loved the lead-up to our wedding and enjoyed every part of the planning process. Having the team at Ever After Effect by our side made all the difference. Cassandra, Leah and Alex were incredible – so talented, kind and genuinely invested in bringing our vision to life. They made everything feel seamless and stress-free, which meant we could focus on enjoying this special chapter together. It truly was everything wedding planning should be.

Style inspiration.

We didn’t have a specific vision for our wedding style when we first started planning. However, once we found our dream venues, The Epicurean and The Cambium in Red Hill, the inspiration came naturally. Surrounded by beautiful landscapes and stunning architecture, we were drawn to an earthy, nature-inspired aesthetic with a simple and timeless feel that complemented the venues perfectly.

The ceremony.

Our ceremony was the most meaningful part of the day. Standing together in front of our family and friends, making our vows and committing to one another, was incredibly emotional and something we’ll cherish forever. It was a rare moment to slow down, be fully present, and reflect on the journey that brought us to that point. The beautiful setting at The Cambium in Red Hill made the moment even more special. It felt as though we were tucked away in our own little corner of the world, surrounded by the people we love most. The natural beauty of the landscape created such a calm and romantic atmosphere, allowing us to be completely immersed in the significance of the moment.

The outfits.

I wore a Mariana Hardwick gown in a soft ivory, featuring a beautifully structured silhouette that blended timeless elegance with modern simplicity. Jacob wore a tailored three-piece suit by YSG Tailors, striking the perfect balance between classic and contemporary. Our bridesmaids wore chocolate brown dresses, which beautifully complemented the earthy, natural tones of our Red Hill setting and tied in seamlessly with the overall aesthetic of the day.

Finding my dress was surprisingly easy. My sister had recently been married in a Mariana Hardwick gown, so I already knew how much I loved their designs. It was an easy decision to make Mariana Hardwick my first stop when dress shopping – and as it turned out, my last! I chose the very first dress I tried on. The entire experience felt effortless, enjoyable and stress-free (apart from the minor detail of fainting twice during a fitting!). From start to finish, it was everything I had hoped it would be.

Favourite moment.

It’s honestly so hard to choose just one favourite moment. The entire day felt incredibly special from beginning to end. From getting ready in the peaceful surrounds of The Cambium with my mum, sisters, nieces and three best friends, to walking down the aisle and sharing such an emotional ceremony with Jacob, every moment felt meaningful.

The celebrations that followed were just as memorable, the heartfelt speeches, incredible food, and spending the evening surrounded by the people we love most. It was one of those rare days where everything seemed to come together perfectly. If I’m being honest, I would be lying if I said I had just one favourite moment; the magic was in experiencing the whole day exactly as it unfolded.

Funny stories (or near disasters).

I fainted during my wedding dress fitting, TWICE! Picture a base dress full of pins and a bride out cold on the floor of Mariana Hardwick’s beautiful store, absolutely mortifying.

Planning surprises.

What surprised us most was just how enjoyable the planning process was. Everyone always talks about wedding planning being stressful, but that wasn’t our experience at all. With the support of our incredible vendors and the team at Ever After Effect, everything felt organised, seamless and genuinely exciting.

Words of wisdom.

Just have fun and enjoy the process. It’s so easy to get caught up in the details but try not to sweat the little things. More often than not, everything works itself out, and even if something doesn’t go exactly to plan, chances are no one else will notice. At the end of the day, your guests won’t remember whether every detail was exactly as you envisioned – they’ll remember how they felt. They’ll remember the love in the room, the joy, the laughter and the celebration. Focus on creating a day that feels authentic to you as a couple, and trust that the rest will fall into place.
