The experience of calm.

To reach Mitchelton Estate, our couples take a journey off the beaten track. We are a little hidden gem, residing away from the bustle of the city in the Goulburn Valley – where the days are a little slower and the atmosphere a little calmer.

Our couples are welcomed warmly with everything they need to make their stay unforgettable, including luxury accommodation and award-winning dining experiences. There is truly nothing better than arriving at your countryside escape surrounded by your loved ones, knowing the weekend ahead is purely yours.

Elevated service, stunning surrounds, luxe experiences.

Mitchelton’s welcoming yet professional service, as well as our exclusive estate offerings, is what sets us apart from other destination wedding venues. We strive to ensure our couples make their day their own and offer tailored event planning to bring their unique vision to life.

Do you want to welcome everyone in for a pre-wedding dinner to start the party? Our Ashton Tower or Underground Cellar is the perfect host.

A special ‘morning of’ breakfast on the cards? Our dedicated bridal butler can deliver your pre-organised breakfast and coffee to your room.

Your recovery session possibilities are also endless! If you’ve treated your guests to a hotel buyout, consider a poolside recovery breakfast on the cards! Otherwise, consider our Provedore Café your morning saviour, with coffee and bacon & egg rolls galore.

Don’t limit your celebrations to one day; spend your wedding weekend with us!

A Mitchelton wedding itinerary.

A typical wedding at Mitchelton starts the day before. Our couples will generally check into their Mitchelton Hotel room from 2pm, where they will also meet with an events team representative for their Item Drop Off – the best way to ease those nerves and make sure everything runs smoothly! As the couple’s guests trickle in throughout the afternoon, the estate comes alive with excitement.

A pre-wedding dinner will usually follow, being the best way for the couple to formally welcome their guests to Mitchelton and reduce that wedding day chaos.

The magic starts the following morning on their wedding day, with our dedicated bridal butler doting on the couple for anything they need throughout the day. The main event will run into the night, with the celebrations reaching their peak!

The Provedore Café is well equipped for a recovery breakfast the following morning, nursing those sore heads with coffee and pastries. We always encourage a post-wedding recovery day on the shores of Lake Nagambie at our sister venue, the Nagambie Brewery and Distillery. The group will venture into town and catch up on all the antics of the night before, indulging in all their favourite foods!

Relaxing by the Mitchelton Pool, taking a ride on the complimentary e-bikes or playing a friendly game of Pickleball is also available at Mitchelton, ensuring everyone makes the most of the wedding weekend.

Setting the scene.

Each venue at Mitchelton boasts its own unique personality and offering, ensuring that whatever you celebrate in this space – will be memorable. From the moment you enter each area, there’s an element of ‘wow’. Take advantage of our range of spaces to create your own personalised wedding itinerary and ensure your guests are taken on a journey for your wedding weekend.

Whether it’s exchanging vows with the river gently flowing behind you, sipping wine at golden hour overlooking the vines, or waking up to sweeping views from the hotel, the landscape has a way of grounding the celebration in something timeless and unforgettable. The environment creates a sense of escape – a retreat where guests can slow down, immerse themselves in nature, and truly savour the experience from beginning to end.

It’s this natural setting that elevates each celebration, transforming beautiful moments into lifelong memories!

Seasonal considerations.

Each season brings its own unique charm to Mitchelton, and couples can embrace these shifts to enhance the atmosphere of their wedding weekend.

Spring and autumn are particularly popular, with mild temperatures, golden vineyard hues, and soft natural light – ideal for outdoor ceremonies, canapé terrace drinks, and sunset photography. These seasons lend themselves beautifully to multi-day celebrations where guests can explore the estate and enjoy the full experience without weather extremes.

Summer offers long, sun-drenched days perfect for evening reception conditions and poolside recovery mornings. Couples can create a comfortable and stylish celebration during the warmer months with our indoor spaces, perfect for keeping the heat at bay.

Winter brings a different kind of magic – moody skies, candlelit dinners, and rich, seasonal menus. It’s a wonderful time for more intimate, romantic affairs, especially in our Underground Cellar. Plus, winter dates often allow for greater flexibility and exclusivity.

Activity opportunities.

There are so many onsite activities that wedding guests can enjoy during their stay.

Our Day Spa (located within our Mitchelton Hotel) is the perfect place to prepare for a big weekend ahead, with a variety of botanical therapies designed to revitalise your senses and soothe your mind – we recommend booking in advance as this is very popular!

Wander through the Gallery of Aboriginal Art underground our Ashton Tower, where you can marvel at the creations of Indigenous artists around the country. Atop the tower, take in the 360-degree views of the estate from above – the best place to see the estate as a whole.

Before you go, head into the Mitchelton Cellar Door and discover the flavours of Mitchelton with a wine tasting experience. Sign up to our Wine Club for free to enjoy a discount on Mitchelton Wine to take home and remind you of the special celebrations.

As well as this, the Mitchelton Hotel plays home to our Mitchelton Pool, complimentary e-bikes, scenic walking track and Pickleball court – there really is something for everyone.

Memorable Mitchelton celebrations.

So many! We’ve had the pleasure of hosting a number of incredible multi-day celebrations that truly showcase Mitchelton’s versatility. One particularly memorable celebration saw a midweek wedding take full advantage of our hotel buyout option, where all 58 rooms of the Mitchelton Hotel were reserved exclusively for the couple and their guests. This allowed them to transform typically leisure-focused areas – including the Muse Restaurant, the hotel pool, and the Provedore Café – into private, bespoke event spaces.

The festivities began the night before with a private tour of our Indigenous Art Gallery, followed by an intimate sunset dinner in the Ashton Tower – a moment of quiet anticipation before the main event! On the wedding day, the couple made a dramatic entrance by boat, arriving to meet their guests at the River Deck for a heartfelt ceremony. Guests then moved to the Muse Restaurant for canapés and a beautifully curated seated dinner before descending into the Underground Cellar for their after-party.

The celebration didn’t stop there – the following morning, guests gathered by the Mitchelton Pool for a relaxed recovery session, complete with bacon and egg rolls, coffee, and plenty of stories from the night before. It was a weekend that felt like a true escape – immersive, personal, and perfectly tailored from beginning to end!
