Whether you’re attending weddings, hens, engagements, planning your own, or simply wanting to freshen things up as the sun elevates your mood, make-up legend Ashleigh Fenton gives us the low down on the trends we’ll be seeing this Spring.

Sheer complexion.

Don’t you worry; we’re still loving drama on the eyes and lips (will we ever not?), but pulling right back on your complexion coverage will create an overall light and airy feel to your make-up. It also feels gorgeous as the days begin to slowly but surely warm up while still having depth and definition on the eyes and lips.

Skincare spring clean.

On that sunshine-popping note, that also means we can look at how our skincare is serving us. I’m a hydration sergeant, so I will always be using creamy textures all year round, but it might be perfect timing to look at lighter-weight formulas that work best for your skin needs and for the love of your skin health; please invest in a good SPF.

Balmy blush.

Blush blindness is here to stay this Spring, especially creamy formulas that will leave a hydrated sheen on your cheekbones or pops of colour mixed with a glowy highlighter for a lit-from-within glow. We love products that let us say we’re ‘low maintenance’, so a hybrid cheek / lips /eye product – I’m adding to cart as we speak.

Coloured mascara.

A great way to incorporate some colour and add life to your make-up bag. We often see bright and bold mascaras in this space, but if that’s not your jam, try a brown or burgundy hue instead to add warmth and softness to your eyes. And don’t forget the lash curler.
