IVORY TRIBE REAL WEDDINGS – BEST OF 2022

Weddings were back with a bang in 2022 and boy were we loving it!

After two years of stop, start, stop, start in the wedding industry it was so beautiful to see wedding submissions pour in and revel in the joy of it all.

Couples did not take the fact that they could finally be in a space with their nearest and dearest lightly, so much so, we saw a swing back to larger wedding gatherings and couples really upped the anti when it came to treating their guests.

We also noticed a huge embrace of planning products, such as our very own Wedding Plans, taking the headache out of list-making and budget tracking.

Whatever the process used, and whatever the style of celebration – it’s safe to say 2022 brought all the joy.

In no particular order, take a peek here at Ivory Tribe’s most popular real wedding features in 2022.

MERVE AND LUCAS, COLDSTREAM VIC

When a wedding photographer with an obvious eye for luxury and style has her moment to take to the aisle, you’re sure to see magic unfold. This was exactly the case for Merve and Lucas, who created the breathtakingly beautiful Stones of The Yarra Valley celebration that stopped us in our tracks.

A tear-filled first look that they’ll never forget, a ceremony drenched in joy, and traditional touches paying homage to their respective family cultures – every element combined to create this beginning of their life as newlyweds.

Captured by the MERVÉ TOGAN team, there is not a moment of this day you won’t adore.

ERICA AND ALEX, CONARA TAS

Let us take you across the way to the stunning historical grounds of Vaucluse Estate in Tasmania. Throw in a divine 1830’s built homestead, a clear marquee to overlook the manicured lawns and pool and it’s easy to see why this was the location Erica and Alex had chosen to tie the knot.

Their vibe was light-filled, nothing too overly traditional, soft neutral tones and textures with a modern touch. But the pièce de resistance we have to say, were Erica’s choice of gowns. Three stellar pieces we couldn’t tear our eyes away from, but her tulle layered Khya gown, made especially for her after seeing a passing sketch on the designers desk at Khya HQ, was c’est magnifique!

Everything about their day, simply felt like ‘them’. They trusted their vendors whole heartedly, which meant they were stress-free in the lead up and on the day itself. Bianca Virtue captured this sensational celebration of love to perfection.

ALI & TIM, COLLINGWOOD VIC

Marrying in Melbourne, Ali and Tim took one look at Rupert on Rupert and just knew it was the perfect vibe for their day, relaxed, romantic and with a party-like atmosphere.

Celebrant superstar Megan Thompson was at the helm and helped Ali and Tim craft a ceremony that was full of laughter, emotion and reflected their personalities perfectly.

Ali was a showstopper in her custom d’Italia gown and she raved about the incredible experience she had with the d’Italia team, who went above and beyond to design her dream dress.

Eager to hit the dance floor, they danced up a storm to the DJ talents of One More Song, and Ivory Tribe photography fave Fern & Stone Photography blew us away with her sensational snaps.

LUCY & HARRY, CERES VIC

Lucy and Harry’s celebration is a vision of crisp contemporary lines, fresh modern elegance, and timeless style.

Choosing a monochromatic palette in classic black and white, Harry and Lucy worked with their stylist and planner Weddings of Desire to create a look that is sweetly simple, with mega impact. Thick garlands of blooms elevate natural timber textures to create a dynamic floral wall, in classic tones of ivory and cream, among endless layered greenery. Stylish silver candelabras add a touch of timeless glam, all lit by endless festoons of fairy lights and a sea of glistening candles.

Lucy stepped into this gorgeous setting in a silk organza dream by the talented Luci Di Bella. As she walked towards her husband to be, the emotions were epic – all captured to perfection by photographic artist Katie Harmsworth.

SARAH & JAKE, OCEAN GROVE VIC

Sarah and Jake were all about sealing the deal in stunning style with a big party that would go well into the night. They pulled together their wedding day priorities to showcase a day that did exactly that – fun-filled and many magical moments of heart were scattered throughout this coastal celebration.

In a Mariana Hardwick gown with gorgeous split detailing and stunning structured bodice, Sarah looked a vision as she made her way down the aisle, before she and Jake soaked up the atmosphere of being surrounded by their loved ones as they said, ‘I do’.

Heading to Ocean Grove, their beach-side photography session allowed them a chance to be alone, relax and appreciate all that their day encompassed – love, laughter and a lifetime commitment to one another.

Ryal Sormaz has captured this day to pure perfection and you’re sure to get swept away in all its magic.

AMALIA & CHRIS, YARRA VALLEY VIC

There’s not many couples who can say they celebrated their day with two weddings ceremonies, but Amalia and Chris did just that! After enduring pandemic planning and postponements, Amalia and Chris were simply set on being wed and they brought all the wow-factor and so much more.

They wanted a day that embodied modern elegance with warm neutral palettes and touches of dusty rose, so they engaged Darling Don’t Panic and Sassafras Weddings to bring their vision to life. Amalia’s Cappellazzo Couture gown was breathtaking and complemented the overall style of the day before she changed into a striking Rebecca Vallance number, complete with a pair of fabulous Fendi sunglasses so she could celebrate the day away.

With incredible imagery by Mervè Togan and you absolutely must see their sneak peek film by our favourites Annette + Dani, this is a day we absolutely adore.

DAISY & RICHIE, YARRA GLEN VIC

Relaxed, classic elegance was the theme of Daisy and Richie’s celebration beginning with the striking black and white look of the wedding party, elevated into contemporary freshness through clean, sleek lines and fresh, fuss-free details. In her low-backed, elegantly silhouetted gown by Jane Hill, Daisy was nothing short of a stylish vision. The look on Richie’s face from the moment he caught sight of his wife to be said it all – this was one man who was glad he built up the courage to ask out the beautiful girl in his year nine French class.

The dramatic weather accompanying the day, along with covid postponements, couldn’t dampen the spirits of this dynamic duo – from the very beginning, they stuck to their theme that in the end, they were marrying their person, and that is what mattered most.

And as they danced together under the stars, just the two of them, the atmosphere was sweet, timeless romance – all captured to perfection by Motta Weddings.

BROOKE & MYLES, SORRENTO VIC

Brooke and Myles’ sun-drenched soiree is a vision of stunning style, soft romance and intoxicating energy, underpinned by the sweetest emotions of joy and elation. In Brooke’s own words, the day was literally perfect.

Beginning with a dose of the best kind of uplifting feels by our own Natalie Drum celebrant, the new Mr and Mrs exchanged their I Dos against an exquisite ocean backdrop, overshone only by the megawatt smiles on their faces.

Stylists The Nuptial Collective realised the Sorrento Riviera theme in breathtaking brilliance, with artfully understated tablescapes in hues of soft dove and lush cream with accents of cornflower blue hydrangeas artfully placed by floral wizards The Petal Project, to perfectly pop against the ocean vista surrounds. Bridesmaids in buttery lemon by Brooke’s own label, Le Mon, were the perfect contrast to the gents in their ultra-sharp Boss suits. And, of course, radiant Brooke shone in her gorgeously glam gown, designed for her by Steven Khalil.

As the dance floor heated up, our beautiful bride switched into a stunning sheath by Mariana Hardwick, with draping detail harmonising both gowns to perfection. But for us, it’s the electric energy between these two newlyweds, visually transcribed by Lost in Love photography and Josue Films, that left us captivated.

LAURA & VINCENT, GEELONG VIC

Fostering a beautiful connection from the moment they first met, Laura and Vince were intent on creating a celebration to honour their love in true style – with a refreshing, relaxed soiree.

But for these two stunners, relaxed most certainly didn’t mean forgoing style. Choosing to echo the industrial-chic vibes of The Federal Mill, they wove contemporary elegance with timeless style against a colour palette of tangerine tones and soft sage greenery.

In a move to delight all the senses, they chose to emphasise their love of cooking with their families through a huge Paella grazing table and a sweetly sumptuous cannoli cart to end the night. We love these perfectly personalised touches, and special attention to the guest’s needs – reflected in images overflowing with loved-up, laid back fun.

For Laura and Vince, taking a moment to step outside as the sun went down and soak up the day was inspired, all captured by their photographer superstar Ryal Sormaz.

JONATHAN & JULIA, MELBOURNE VIC

Light and dreamy is what came to mind when we first spied Jonathan and Julia’s exquisite Melbourne wedding. They set about highlighting some of our city’s favourite locations and spots that held a certain sentiment to their relationship.

They were married on the balcony at Siglo bar, officiated by their dear friend Harriett Lobb before Lilli from I Got You Babe Photography placed them on a photographic journey around the streets capturing all the delicate details of Jono’s suave Oscar Hunt tux and Julia’s ethereal Maticevski gown, before settling into their reception at Stokehouse St Kilda.

The theme was ‘simple elegance’ but there was nothing simple about it! Everything was thoughtfully curated, from the pops of blue hydrangea set amidst clusters of white roses and baby’s breath fashioned by the team from The Petal Project, down to each individual wedding supplier.

They said the whole day was ‘pretty perfect’ and we tend to agree!

KELSEY & KIERAN, MELBOURNE VIC

A vision of sophistication and timeless elegance minus the formal side of things – that’s what Kieran and Kelsey had in mind when they set out to plan their wedding with 170 friends and family joining them on their special day.

After hunting for the perfect location, they were drawn to the iconic flora and fauna of the Royal Botanic Gardens in Melbourne where their love story was relayed by a close friend whilst being nestled amidst the glorious pops of colour woven together by botanical genius Andrea from The Petal Edition.

Kelsey, being the creative stylist behind the whole operation, also had her sights firmly set on two outfits for the day and with the help of dressmaker Tania Stokes, what they came up with was absolutely bow-tiful.

La Moment Photography was there to capture all the love and pearlers of the day and we think it’s pretty clear that these two, know how to throw one heck of a party.

KAYLAH & SPENCER, MELBOURNE VIC

Kaylah and Spencer’s wedding day was the quintessential Melbourne vibe. With their ceremony kicking off, lined by the beautiful trees of Fitzory Gardens, providing them with ample shade from the looming ominous silver clouds. It was the perfect backdrop to offset their white florals and furnished accents and set the effortless and relaxed tone they wanted their whole day to reflect.

Kaylah wore a classic strapless Kyha Studios gown whilst Spencer opted for a traditional tuxedo, the two of them emanated that ol’ Hollywood glam style.

These two put so much thought into what they wanted their day to be about, a true reflection of them and their relationship and everything that Melbourne is all about, the food, the music, the style and it was all captured beautifully by Lei Lei Clavey.

CAITLIN & CHRISTIAN, NAGAMBIE VIC

With a romantic history that stretches back to primary school, Caitlin and Christian’s celebrations were bound to be filled with electric emotion and epic levels of fun. Against the gorgeous backdrop of Mitchelton Winery, on a sun-drenched day, this wedding was every bit the chic, modern dream these two sweethearts hoped for.

Every darling detail reflects timeless style – from soft ivory clouds of florals with accents of muted blush and apple green to the wedding party in classic black and white. And of course, the couple; Christian cutting a dapper figure in black and Caitlin in her simply stunning gown by Khya. We can’t get enough of the modernised ball gown, and Caitlin wears it to perfection.

Superstar Katie Harmsworth was behind the lens to create a visual capture of the day that is sure to wow.
