In 1984 Alla & Allan Wolf Tasker (renowned chef & artist) dreaming a seemingly impossible dream, opened the doors of their house on the lake. It had taken four years of clearing; building and planting to open a restaurant which Alla hoped would be as the Michelin Guides call it, “worthy of a journey” for foodies from around the world.

 

 

More than 30 years later, Alla & Allan, their daughter Larissa, her husband Robin Wilson and a dedicated “tribe” of industry professionals continue to spread joy and pleasure with their unique and timeless sense of hospitality across the Lake House Restaurant, Cellar, Hotel, Salus Spa, Cooking School and more.

 

 

Lake House is an incredibly romantic place to be married, with its hauntingly beautiful lakeside location. What we love about Lake House is the myriad of magical options they provide when designing your dream day. Ceremonies often take place on the lake shore and the row of silver birch trees Alla planted with her mother providing the perfect backdrop as you share your vows with your guests (and velvet grey geese) looking on. Alternatively, their Stringy Bark terrace provides an elegantly elevated position with the lagoon foreshore, lined with hand cut Castlemaine stone, yet another magical position. Should the weather be cooler, their Waterfront Pavilion or Terrace Room provide the perfect cooler climate options.

 

 

Ultimately Lake House is a haven for food lovers.   Awarded on numerous occasions for their exceptional food, this reputation extends to their wedding day celebrations.  Culinary Director, Alla Wolf-Tasker lovingly crafts menus that combine the best and often locally sourced seasonal produce. Featuring a luxurious Bridal Suite that is spacious, stylish and is perfect pre-ceremony, and adjacent suites are wonderful for ‘extended family’ lodgings. And when the party is over? Couples can relax in their suite with the indulgence of an extra glass of champagne, knowing everything has been taken care of.

 

 

When planning a wedding with Lake House, guests will be spoiled from start to finish of their stay. Guests may like to have a hit of tennis followed by tea and refreshments in the tennis pavilion, a glass of wine by the fire in the Argyle Library Bar. Given the opportunity to explore the gardens guests will come upon significant trees, a myriad of sculptures and artwork from many of the region’s top artists, extensive outdoor terraces overlooking the lake shore and established country gardens with everything from koala loved stringy barks to lilac, Daphne, quince, plum and apple trees.

The state-of-the-art Salus Spa designed with blond wood and splashes of Tiffany blue, is surrounded by waterfall fed streams with nine treatment areas offering the latest in spa treatments and technology.  Their treatments will have bridal parties feeling fresh, nourished and rejuvenated.
