Real Wedding – Allie & Daniel, Porepunkah VIC

At the base of Mount Buffalo, on the most perfect private property, Daniel and Allie started married life with an incredible shebang.

When they decided to be wed on Daniel’s parents land, Allie and Daniel knew there was a mountain of organisation ahead of them. But they planned everything meticulously and engaged many helping hands so they could sit back, relax and enjoy their stunning celebration.

Using Mt Buffalo as their beautiful backdrop, they kept their day simple but heartfelt before they hit the dance-floor all night long.

Tribe photo favourite Jackson Grant was there to capture every magical moment and we think you will agree this bash is a beauty!

In Allie’s words…

The meeting.

We are both Health & PE Teachers and we met at work at the same Secondary College.

The ‘one’.

We get along so well. Not a day goes by where we are not laughing and having fun. We love our life together and could not think of another person to share it with!

The proposal.

We had a magnificent room in Southbank in December of last year. As soon as we walked into the room we were overlooking the city and he dropped knee! So care free, so romantic, so us!!

The process.

As we decided to get married on Daniel’s parent’s property we knew there was a mountain of organisation that was going to need to happen in nine months! We live in Melbourne and the location is 3 ½ hours away. We relied heavily on phone conversations and regular trips on the weekends to plan everything. Our families helped enormously!! We wanted everything planned meticulously so that we could sit back and enjoy the lead up to the day!! The week prior to the wedding was all hands on deck – we had numerous family members help style and set up once the marquee had been erected! Daniel’s parents worked tirelessly to ensure the house and garden was immaculate – it looked like it belonged on the front page of a landscape magazine!

The next day was Grand Final Day and we had set up a big screen in the marquee as our “wash up” drinks.

Style inspiration.

We wanted the amazing backdrop to be the centre of attention! As a result we went for a really simple theme of white, grey and black.

The dress.

I loved my dress even before I tried it on! It was the first dress that I had tried on and everything else that I put on after that didn’t compare! It fit me perfectly and I could not have been happier!!

Favourite moments.

Straight after the ceremony we had drinks on the property with the spectacular Mt Buffalo in the background as the sun began to set with an acoustic set playing by the band. Nothing beats looking around and seeing everyone you love joining in the celebrations!! The dancefloor was also a hit!

Meaning of marriage.

Marriage is a commitment to enjoy the rest of our lives together. It’s a promise to never give up on each other and a reminder of all the good times we will have!

Wedding soundtrack.

Aisle: Your Song by Elton John

How sweet it is by James Taylor

First dance: Baby, I Need Your Loving

Funny stories (or near disasters).

None!! Except the groom had a bandaid on his finger that he forgot to take off!

Planning surprises.

We were shocked by how calm we both were on the day and in the lead up!!

Words of wisdom.

Create a timeline and a running sheet for the day! Make sure you enjoy the lead up and the big day! It really does go in the blink of an eye!!

Last words.

We are so grateful for this opportunity to showcase the beautiful Buckland Valley – such a beautiful place in the world!!

Private properties are magic, and Alyce and John’s day was all of this and so much more – check it out.
