Real Wedding – Ellie & Tom, Sorrento VIC
Guests know they’re in for an epic wedding when the groom goes skydiving the morning of the I do’s and Hey Jack is in charge of the tunes into the evening.
Ellie and Tom’s enthusiastic, carefree approach to life was perfectly reflected in their beachside ceremony in Sorrento which recounted their romantic evolution from neighbours to friends, to life partners and adoring parents.
Clear skies and sparkling seas shone the same shade of blue weaved into the florals, and worn by the bridesmaids, as the pair exchanged vows on the sand.
Local legend Hannah Briggs Photography was behind the lens to capture all the fun and feeling of the effortlessly cool coastal union.
The couple’s relaxed, ‘don’t sweat the small stuff’ ethos stood them in good stead for a stress-free planning experience that culminated in a joyous party of champagne, dancing and fireworks that loved ones are sure to reminisce on for decades to come.

The meeting.
We were living in Canada as next-door neighbours and started out as good friends.
The ‘one’.
From the moment we decided to take our friendship to the next level everything was just better with us and so easy.
The proposal.
Tom asked me to marry him with our 1.5 year old at a look out in Port Douglas.
Planning process.
We were one of the lucky ones who found it super easy. All decisions were easy to make and it was super chill experience.
Style inspiration.
We both grew up near the beach and we are very carefree people so we wanted our wedding to reflect those things.
The ceremony.
Our ceremony was just perfectly ‘us’. The sun was shining, all our favourite people were there, and when I got to Tom at the end of the aisle it just made me feel so at home.
The look.
My dress was from Made With Love. I didn’t know what I was looking for when I went in there but when I tried it on I just knew it was the one – I felt like a bride.
Favourite moments.
Everything from the moment I woke up to the moment Tom and I debriefed our day at our hotel room after the night finished was so special and memorable. We loved every part.
Meaning of marriage.
To us it’s about two people coming together and promising to be together forever – it is a showcase of each other’s love.
Funny stories (or near disasters).
Tom went skydiving the morning of the wedding with his groomsmen, so that could have been a real disaster!
Words of wisdom.
If it feels right to you, you won’t be disappointed with your decision. Don’t sweat the small stuff because only you will know what hasn’t gone to plan.
